fishindevil Posted May 17, 2012 Report Share Posted May 17, 2012 transoms are usually 15 or 20 inches,so your longshaft engine is probly fit for a 20 inch transom,i have seen some guys bolt a plate on the outside of the back transom and up and square it off back down to the inside of the transome so i guess you would have to lift if 5 inches or so up i have seen it a few times so it is do-able,but i think you would have to make sure its very strong as it would be disater if it was not done right and your motor would be gone,or worse split the back of the transome and sink ???
