Jackie Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 Hi Folks, just bought a water pressure gauge today, got everything hooked up on the dash already, but I have no idea where the other end of the hose connects to...The motor is 2004 Mercury Optimax 115hp. Instruction with picture or diagram would be great! Here are some pictures of the motor: Thanks a bunch!!! Jackie
ah_long Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 Pretty straight forward. There is a grey tube at the back of the motor that should be ziptied up just sitting there (it enters the motor at the upper right looking from the back). Splice thegauge tube to that and run it to the console. Hardest part is finding a mount and spot for the gauge. Several of us have used car gauge mounts (got mine of ebay...single 2" gaugemount). Then hook up the light and you are good to go.
ah_long Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 Your Mercury dealer will have the hydraulic fitting to tap into that grey coiled line zip tied to the back of the motor
JamesG Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 http://1manual.com/M...nual_Index.html service manuals online.... very useful whenever your troubleshooting. not sure if it tells you where to tap in, but it tells you the pressures you should expect
