Christmas....

Great post G. This will be my 1st Christmas with out my Grandfather. My hero. We lost him this summer at the age of 97. He was more like a father to me having been the major male influence in my life since I was 6.

This will also be the 1st Chritmas in the last 6 years that my Mom will get her 3 sons all together for Christmas dinner (26th). Due to family obligations and traditions my younger brother always spends Christmas with his wife, boys, and in-laws in Cambridge, then heads North for New Years. Unfortunately my wife, boys, and I head South after Christmas to prepare for our "kid friendly" New Years Eve Party (and of course Nipissing opener on Jan 1st.).

Merry Christmas to all of you, especially your families.

Merry X-mas Gerrit.

I had someone close to my family pass away yesterday at 3pm.. It's a tough time of year for this to happen. Every year, the family would gather at his house on Boxing day for the family Christmas party / dinner. This year, his wake is on Boxing day.

I couldn't agree more with what you said in your post. Very well written.

A guy I work with brags about spending $2000 every year on presents for his kids.. What the point :wallbash:

Merry Christmass Gerrit

Thank you for the post you compiled. It is truely hard at this time of year knowing that your loved ones will not be there in person, but they will be there in spirit and in your memories.

I have lost my father around 13 yrs ago to brain cancer, a good family man with values, a good heart and passionate about everything he did in life. God bless his soul.

Im not sure if this helps but it was told to me and made me feel a little better not that long ago. It was Gods will, and he needs him to help him for our sake.

I wish you the best in this holiday season Gerritt and thank you again for your post.
