NEW PB WALLEYE! (through the ice)

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Went out for a couple of hours at 3pm. Was not expecting to catch anything....as i'd skunked for walleye the last 2 times i'bve been to this lake in the last 2 weeks. I was however under orders to get supper......pressure was on!

The pressure increased because i managed to get a decent eater (16") on the ice almost immediately...then NADA for about half an hour until the BEAST hit, holy man was she a big girl....28" long and probably the same around...belly on it was huge....MY NEW ICEFISHING WALLEYE PB!!!! well pleased with that. The reason the pressure had increased though is i could not bring myself to keep her...back she went and i still needed another fish(at least ) for supper purposes.

Well i got another about 16" and supper was delicious tonight, great little session again...and got the walleye skunk off my back in style.

I always seem to do sooooo much better when i fish alone....weird...but true.

Here's some pretty crappy video and a couple of pics.

What a great fish Simon. She sure is a beauty and kudos for putting her back. They're not as sweet as the small ones anyhow :)

    • Lake Erie walleye factory

Hi there! Looks like a great year for walleye fishing and Erie is one of the best places to go for them . Been lately on a few occasions my buddies and we limit by noon every single time . It didn't matter if it was wavy or still, trolling was the ticket. We had several double header, even a few triple headers... Cheers! Gino

    • New toy, for when I am not fishing *NF*

So a lot has happened in the past 6 years for me and now here I am.  By that I mean a newer relationship and new hobbies too.  Yes I still fish as often as I can (I just don't share my findings now) but my old passion to ride is back.  Today I finally got my own 'bike'. It's a 2015 Yamaha FZ-07 with less than 1600KM on it and it's mint AND has the upgraded Hindel exhaust!  Time to ride to my spots

    • St. Lawrence Walleye

Not exactly what I was targeting but fun to catch regardless! Walleye population is nice & healthy on the St. Lawrence River! They love those Z-Man Diesel MinnowZ!

    • Got a new truck today

I bought a new F150 Lariat last year and absolutely loved the truck but there was a serious issue with the 5 litre engine so Ford installed another engine recently and that one had issues too. I told them I was done with the 5 litre and didn't want the truck back. I wanted to replace the truck and get one with the 3.5 EcoBoost instead and I've never seen a dealership do so much to make a customer happy. There's already a great "Employee Discount" thing going on which knocks a pile of $$$$ o
