Scugog on Sunday Jan 9th Report

Recommended Posts

I wanted to thank everyone that on the board for their help with finding a hut. I booked with

http://www.stilesfishhuts.com/ pretty much at the eleventh hour. fit 7 people in a 6 man hut. ( 4 guys and 3 ladies) fished from Viewlake from about 10:30 to 3:30. Steve is a good guy. Had us set up and ready to go the minute we got there. Like all of you said he told us before hand that the bite doesn't happen till sunset or really early morning. He offered to let us stay as long as we wanted ( nice of him to do so) The fishing action was constant the minute the lines hit the water, if you were okay with catching little dinks ( biggest was 6"). It was fun for the first timers that were with us so atleast we didn't get any complaining. Over all a good day for everyone. It beats changing diapers and I made it home to watch the packers win!!

There were photo's but I don't think a 6" perch deserves to be displayed with all the other photo's on here. Like putting a stick person drawing next to a Picasso.

Sounded like a fun trip, at least you had a hut to keep warm in. Scugog perch are a joke somtimes haha but at least you got a chance at a walleye out there.

Thanks for the post,

MTBF

    • A family and friends fishing report

For the last 5 years in the summer my wife and I rent a cottage somewhere within a 2ish hour drive from Ottawa for a week of fishing and relaxing. March of last year our little guy was born and the trip has turned into more of a family vacation than a fishing trip as expected. Last year we found a cottage we really enjoyed with great fishing and decided to book it again for our 2019 trip. This year my good friend and his wife joined us on the trip which is always a lot of fun. The little guy is

Hey Guys,  When I last left off, the boat had been put away in her early winter slumber. Its almost impossible to believe that its been 8 months since I put the boat to bed, now it makes me even more sad because that means we are only about 4 months away from putting the boat away again. Holy geeze. The 8 months have provided some pretty decent fishing as the guys and I have grown as anglers, we have really started to dial in on the fish, our standard has definitely risen. We have high

    • Quebec Trip Report

Just got back from our 5 day trip to Lac Dassarat in Quebec. There were about 16 of us this year. Started out with one of the guys having his car smashed in a pile up the Friday before we were leaving; he persevered though and was able to still make it. We made the 6.5 hour trek, with the final 1/2 hour being on a very rough road. We limped in with a flat tire from a puncture. Thankfully the owner of the resort had all the tools to plug it; my buddy ended up putting the spare on to be safe for t
