Manual auger extension

Recommended Posts

I built an ice shack this year and once I was fishing in it I realized that once the ice gets to be 12 I dont think I'll make it threw the ice... I have a 8" fin bore auger that does not fold... I was wondering if anybody knows if there are extensions for this auger and were I might find one...

Thanks to anyone that leaves me some info...

A friend of mine uses this adapter with a 24 volt cordless drill and his 7" Fin Bore auger and it works great. He doesn't need an extentsion because he can get right down to the ice surface with it.

They don't make ice cubes that big in Cornwall, unless you're going up north don't worry about it. If you are going up north and show up with a hand crank once you get on your knees with a hand crank and no water, then you have problems.

    • Trailer hitch extension just for launch?

Just came back from Lake St. Clair and had a brutal time launching my boat from the public ramp at Jeannettes Creek.I have a 16ft pontoon on a tendem trailer which is ok for towing but when I built the bunks on the fenders I didn't realize the height would come back to bite me later. The boats sits high on the trailer so unless the ramp is a "cliff" my vehicle has to go way too far in the lake to launch. Anyways I plan to just make a simple extension used ONLY for launches, a hassle but 10x

    • Power auger head advice

I have a Jiffy power head that obviously doesn't work (cause they are all garbage these days), and i don't particularly want to put the money into getting it fixed again if it's just gonna break down again after a few holes - It has already been in for repairs 3 times. the last time they could not fix the problem. i know stores like Home Depot will sell Power heads for Earth augers. has anyone tried these out on the ice? i would obviously be putting my 10" Jiffy auger blade on the new power

    • Strike Master power auger - 8"

Looking for an 8" Strike Master Lazer Mag (preferably) power ice auger, or just the drill bit ....bent my drill bit on Simcoe yesterday. Will try to straightened it but doubt it'll work very well. If someone has just the bit for sale (power head not working) it'll be great. Strike Master part # LPD-8. Of possibly complete auger in good condition. Feel free to PM me.   Cheers, Ice Fisherman
