fishinguypat
as easy as a 6'6 foot-10 foot rod medium action.8-14 pound test(depends where you are fishing) a good spinning reel...if you are fishing in river/creeks you can get cheap rods and reel combo for $ 60 or more.the bait you can use is roe, marshemellows, worms, plastic worms/eggs, etc if pier fishing casting spoons is common and having egg sacks with float styrophome in them and used on the bottom
LeXXington
Welcome Yan. For a your first time salmon fishing, better too cast spoons, flatfish, wigglers. Best time too do this is late Aug into mid Sept. It gets busy out there so arrive early Fishing in with baits is also fun but requires a little more skil riggigng, hookset etcl. You can use the hook up section here too see if you can join someone going to teach you the finer points. Stay safe and post results
