Musky Time

Recommended Posts

Hello fellow anglers….headed out with a couple of buddies to try our luck for Musky on Lake Scugog.

After wiping the dust off my vessel and fuelling up (thank God it only takes 80L) we headed off to Port Perry.

Less than an hour into it, my buddy Rob (Iceguy) nails this lovely 43” off a spinnerbait in heavy cover.

Took off like a bat out of hell upon release…..

It was great to be back out chasing skies!

:clapping:

I too went to there on Sunday and got skunked, but I did manage to pull out mister bucket mouth on a red bucktail tipped with a with grub! I here they are all after the spinners so the next time I'm out that's all I'm going to use.

    • Saying hello, been a looooong time!

I'm back in the GTA for the last few weeks but pretty much all of my fishing buddies have either left the city and/or have left the sport! I'm also partly guilty because I've been travelling a ton the past few years, living abroad, and fishing sporadically... How time flies... it seems like it was just yesterday that I was posting pictures of my pike and carp catches from the Toronto Islands ...

    • Summer time crappies

Hi All, I'm new to the Kawarthas on Pigeon Lake near Emily Provincial Park.  I was catching some nice tasty slab crappies during the spring time, but they all seem to have disappeared.  Anyone have any idea where I can find them on Pigeon Lake?  I only have a small aluminum boat with a 9.9 outboard, so can't go far.  I would appreciate any information on where and how to find them. Thanks, KeithK

    • Musky Baits look terrible?

So the other day im fishing with my buddy who likes to collect swimbaits for bass and it occurs to me...Why in the heck are musky fishermen still using such oldschool weird looking baits? For those not aware, there is a big movement in the bass industry especially amognst younger anglers that is simply called the "swimbait movement" Quite literally though, this same movement just does not exist in musky fishing. The oldschool baits, Yes...i get it, they work, Ive caught musky on blades
