  1. Be careful during the holiday parties. I would like to share a personal experience with all of you about drinking and driving. As you well know, some have been known to have had brushes with the authorities on the way home from an occasional social session over the years. A couple of nights ago, I was out for an evening with friends and had several pints of Doombar, a brandy chaser, and a drop of red wine. Knowing full well I may have been slightly over the limit, I did something I've never done before ~ I took a cab home. Sure enough, I passed a police road block but, since it was a cab, they waved it past. I arrived home safely without incident, which was a real surprise; as I have never driven a cab before and am not sure where I got it or what to do with it now that it's in my garage.
  2. As I see it, the best thing to do at home is to shut off the water and drain the system as much as possible by turning on a tap in the basement( e.g. laundry tub)
  3. The Allister Simms Christmas Carol ia 1 of mine, but the Griswolds 1 was fun.
  4. There are usually lots of cottages for rent here in Wasaga in winter. Blue mtn is quite close for skiing and we have a provincial park in town that has plenty of space for walking or snowshoeing. ( or XC skiing)
  5. Preparation--you mean apart from stopping at the beer store and liquor store?? Don't know nuttin' bout that!!
  6. So---wild guess---how long has prostitution been around? Easy prob to solve?
  7. Now there's an 'educated ' opinion!!! . Maybe one day someone will confuse him with some facts.
  8. How do you fit 'grace' and 'duck dynasty' into the same sentence???
  9. Now that would be the definition of a 'long winter's night'!!!
  10. I said it before but I'll say it again: 90% of drivers consider themselves above average! No joke!
  11. Well, if they took him to the hospital to make sure he was OK they should have stopped by his house so he'd have clean underwear!!
  12. As I understand it, attrition will be more than enough to cover the job reductions at CP. The big hike in stamp price can be argued back and forth, but the writings been on the wall for daily home delivery for a long time now. Good for the environment too---saves gas!
  13. ditto! Not even close. I've seen a Tims cup or 2 but that's about it, and I don't live in a ritzy neighborhood.
  14. Yep! And 90% of the drivers consider themselves above average---might sound like a joke but it's a fact.
  15. Ditto----except to say that 1 time we didn't get anybody to pick up our mail. What happened? The mailbox got full and CP just held the rest at the nearest station with a note in our mailbox telling us that(the note was a form that they obviously used routinely) Good service, I'd say..
  16. I remember when most boys carried a pocketknife everywhere, incl to school where we would play a game called 'knife' at recess time. Probably wouldn't go over big these days.
