  1. I wondered if I just heat the crap out of it, wouldn’t it eventually stop putting out poisons fumes?
  2. I’ll just cut a grill to fit, heat it with a torch and bend it over as hooks
  3. The pike was the first fish of the trip, 42”. The laker was 26lbs4ozs. The walleye in the other pic was one of hundreds just like it. The one afternoon we smashed them for 4 hours straight, I was actually surprised when my husky jerk made it back to the boat. I even started throwing some big pike lures and walleye were still hitting it. Lol
  4. Oh wow! Thanks for the heads up, looks like I will be building my own ;)
  5. Thanks guys! I think I will do this to mine, just as maintenance. Tight lines
  6. I bought my 15hp 4 stroke merc in 2016. It’s been flawless and it doesn’t burn any gas. At all, it’s incredible
  7. That’s 3” of white ice, in that spot. Scary stuff for the inexperienced angler. Stay safe
  8. Saw this on another website, just wanted to share. Turns your big buddy heater into a stove for less then $4 Wooster Brush F0001 Acme Deluxe Five Gallon Grid https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0019ESMLK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabc_tg68FbK0WTJYS?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
  9. I wonder if they mean on the side with birds of prey. The other side where they fish might be a different story. Still thinking about going for a drive. Even if it’s just for a drive to get out of the house. If it’s not posted, I will still try to fish. Tight lines
  10. Wow! That sucks. Thanks for the info
  11. I checked Mountsberg website and it said it was open. At Mountsberg, there’s no gate. Not usually much human contact. Think I will wait a few days at least, this cold snap won’t be good any ways. Next warmer sunny morning might be though. Thanks for the info guys.
  12. Think the ice is gone?
  13. Hey guys. Just wondering if anyone has been out to local conservation areas (Hamilton area)? Looking for some fishable waters for pike. Hopefully ice out pike. Super bored. Looking to take my 6 year old son and get out of the house. Thanks
  14. The mnr started stalking the Hamilton Harbour with walleye because they started to catch them in the carp traps and realized they were starting to come back naturally.
  15. Went out of Port Maitland, but it was pretty windy and choppy. It was the first time I put my new boat in these conditions and for a 14' aluminum and a 15 HP motor, I was very impressed with the way it handled it! It's a Tracker V14 with a 15 HP Fourstroke Mercury. I ran the motor for 5 hours straight and used maybe 5L of gas. With running pretty far in choppy water. We managed to land 4 smallies, not too big and my uncle lost a bigger one. We headed west towards the provincial park and found a shoal on the way there. All the fish were caught in between 12-15' of water. We launch at the free launch in Port Maitland park and the people fishing from the piers were catching drum/sheep head like crazy! Special thanks to all the board members for there advice, it made a huge difference in our day! LTF
  16. Does Fishmasters tackleshop have much stuff? I'm looking for some Gobby coloured tubes for tomorrow. Thanks, LTF
  17. I'm guessing if I launch at fishmasters, he will be able to point me in the right direction. Not really sure where gull rock is...
  18. Now that they changed the wind forecast, I think I might go out of Port Maitland for bass
  19. Anything to be had in the Grand by Dunnville right now? Thanks, LTF
  20. It's funny you say that! I work at Canadian tire and was looking at the combos... lol But that's also why I asked
  21. Next question. What is an affordable, good combo for this type of fishing?
  22. Thanks for your help guys! Think I'm going to eventually invest in a couple of rods and reels with line counters so I can run dipsys. For tomorrow I think I will go to the Grand/ Lake Erie
  23. I also checked spoon pullers, 45-60' down
  24. I have a dipsy, but no reels with line counters. I do have an old rod with steel line, lol. no down riggers
