  1. Thanks Fellas. I love steelies and would fish them exclusively. I think fishing will be hot as soon as cons permit so make sure you get out there and catch a few of these beauties yourself. Tight lines!
  2. Nice fish and report guys. When it's this time of year and there is action to be had you need to have at it when you can! Plus you probably didn't have anyone walking in on your spots either!
  3. Hey everyone. How are you all? Well I managed to get a couple days off work this week and managed to go 9/14 between today and yesterday. My buddy that was with me yesterday got 2 and my buddy who was with me today got 7 with a 3 drift 3 fish streak! Most fish were caught on roe bags using 4 lb test and small hooks. Here's a couple that I got.
  4. That big purple hen is awesome! I wish there were more that colour! Nice pics boys. good work braving the weather! It usually pays off!
  5. Yeah Benny I knew you'd like the beard! Don't worry they're just starting to come in thick now so I should be able to get my fill before we head up! Let me know if you got time when you get back and we'll slay a few!
  6. Some beauty fish man. Gotta love this time of the year eh!
  7. Awesome trip and pics man. Bet you definately wish you were back there with this storm! We all do!
  8. Thanks fellas. It was definately a good 3 days of fishing.
  9. Sorry about the double post guys but I have one more picture that I want you to see. We moved farther down and after spending about 20 minutes clearing slush and ice at my favourate spot I proceeded to catch nothing. So I decided to start moving up through the slush in the creek. Get to another fav spot and first drift hook a monster. Fish takes 100 feet of line going down so I start chasing. Catch up and he starts going up taking about another 75 ft. So I move back up get him close and he decides he's goint back down again. This time no chasing just faught him back to me and landed this 34.5 - 35 inch beauty! Went back on Thursday and got 4 more none as big as this one though! Hope you enjoyed this. There will probably be more to come soon! ATF
  10. Hey All. Been a while since I posted here but I finally found out how to get my pictures to the right size to post on here so I hope you enjoy these. Last week the conditions were perfect for steelheading. Nice colour to the water not flowing too fast after the rain and melt. I started my week on Tuesday. This was the first fish of the day caught on a pink worm. Batteries died in the camera after this one but I got 3 more and my buddy got 1. Not a bad day! Wednesday the waters had cleared a little and there was a slush buildup on some parts of the water. Drifted right next to one of these slush spots and immediately hooked up. Landed that fish and went back and drifted the same spot and hooked a nice 8 lb female A little while later I moved down to fish some new water and hooked this bruiser. (Still using pink worms)
  11. Nice fish man. The steelies were definately hammering this week. Can't wait for the weeks to come.
  12. Nice report guys. Way to perservere through some tough times. Steelheading can be a frustrating game when you lose fish but good job keepin at them and getting a few!
  13. Nice fish. It's always the best fishing when you are out by yourself in my opinion. You can concentrate on your presentation a little more and landing the fish by yourself just takes a little practice but once you start landing them without a net you'll want to do it all the time. ATF
  14. Thanks fellas. The pics of musky are always big draws especially ones that come throught the ice. That one is just a baby compared to the 25 lber that my bro got last year through the ice. Now that was an experience that I will never forget.
  15. Thanks ccmt I'm just happy I got the pictures up here so now everyone knows I'm not just telling stories about the fish that I catch.
  16. Yep I got the musky ice fishing. It was my second one this year. We were fishing for perch and I always set the tip up in a little shallower to go for the pike that are in the lake. That was better than catching a pike though. It definately did get my heart going. You may be able to tell from the picture that my smoke isn't lit. The flag going up sort of took me by surprise! That's my pb fish through the ice.
  17. By the way, disregard the dates on the pics. My buddy isn't very technologically inclined!
  18. Hopefully this works. http://s164.photobucket.com/albums/u22/rog...irst_widget.pbw
  19. Hey guys I am trying to post some pictures but when I try to attach and upload the file it says I have not selected a file to upload. What's the problem if anyone can tell me?
  20. Kemper how "HUGE" were they? haha I'm thinking about givin her a go tomorrow I'll post the cons and how I did.
  21. That's exactly my feeling Tony. I wish I could do more about it but unfortunately I can't. That's the thing too, if more guys would ask me if they could fish with me I may give them more tips or help them out a little more when they aren't catching any fish. Or even net their fish for them if they get one. There has only been one guy that ever asked to fish next to me. I had already caught 2 in that hole and 6 in total that morning so I said sure. We fished together for about 20 mins and then I had to get going. Just as I got my stuff put away I see his float go down and him set the hook. I said there you go and he ensued fighting a giant male steelie. He asked me to stay so I could net it for him and I said sure. (By the way that was one of the most exciting battles I have ever watched!) I netted his fish for him and took a couple of pictures of him with the fish with his camera before he let it go. Now any time I go and see him we always have a chat about how the fishing is and what we have caught recently. That's the way it should be but most of the time it isn't. ATF
  22. exactly. What can you do? Especially if the group that is supposed to have control over the situation doesn't do anything when they are phoned. Sure you can try to help the situation but like mattyk said peoples attitudes are hard to change... YOu can try till you're blue in the face and some will listen and some will not.
  23. What can I do about it? I ask the person who is fishing the spot if they mind if I fish beside them. I don't care what the answer is cause I'll just go find another spot if he says no. I've only had very few ask me the same when I'm fishing a spot they want to fish most just walk up beside you and don't even aknowledge you are there. I've had the same guy do it to me time and time again and I always say how are ya this morning and get no answer. It's not gonna change. Guys just want to catch fish and if they think the fish are in front of where you are fishing they will most likely come fish beside you wether they ask you to or not. I'm not saying all anglers are like this but when it comes to steelheading most are. For instance I was fishing my fav spot bottom bouncing roe with a couple split shots. We were there for about an hour and then this other guy comes and starts fishing on the other side of the creek. He was using a float and kept getting tangled in our lines. After this happened about 5 times he shot a comment across that we should be using floats. (he wasn't catching any and I was) I just smiled and said to him I'll fish how I want to fish and we were here first so if you don't like it MOVE! He didn't end up moving or catching any fish. This is what I am talking about though. There was no one else fishing that day yet he had to be right across the creek from us. Most of the time when guys move in on me like that I just move or leave but there is the odd time when I say screw it and stay and catch fish in front of them which usually ticks them off enough to leave.
