  1. Two thumbs Up!!! from my experiences SO FAR with Mike P's HANDLEBARZ Muskie Bucktails & Egghead Spinnerbaits.

I purchased a few pieces in various colors from Firetiger to Orange/Black, Purple/Silver and Gold/Copper. I have had success fishing on RICE ,Kasshabog & home lake Four Mile Lake over the past 6 to 8 weeks.

Mikes' Ultralite bucktail has been the #1 winner for me so far. Weighing in at 1.5 oz. it can either be " speed burned " for a top water enticer , or let sink and slow retrieved for a crippling presentation. Many follows by the Muskies but nothing on the CATCH side.

I just got the NEW to me..EGGHEADS which are a large version of a spinnerbait. I ordered my custom pcs. with a 3.5 oz weighting and went with a single hook hidden in the flashabou skirting. On Friday on had 3 BASS caught on this rig ( throw with my Pete Maina Round reel matched with my Spence Petros MH, 7'6" muskie stick. I had a good workout and felt;t it on Saturday. I believe with the water temps reading 75-76 degrees all the biggies are of course hiding in the deeps.

I would recommend ANY of Mikes' craftings and or ASK for what you want and make it...

    Keep up the good work!!

Thanx Mike & the HANDLEBARZ team.

  2. Hello Fisher Friends

I live on the edge of Rice Lake, and go out 2X a week to my favorite spots for some exercise, and fresh air. Re-learning the FISH experience after an accident years ago ( and many ,many months of morphine and other meds has WIPED my brain)

My other bud and I went out for our regular 5am Fishfest on Friday and the OPP [water patrol bumped into us checking for all the NECESSARIES.

A thumbs up to the officer and his first mate. There was NO STATIC, and he chatted us up. Gave us the ALL CLEAR and sent us on our way. This was the first time in a while that we have seen any presence on the lake.

Nice to see as there are MANY , NEW I will say ( getting myself in trouble ) Citi-Type folk they come out 6 guys in a tin boat wearing dress suits squawking in some language nearly capsizing when they catch sunfish, bluegills, perch and other SMALL baiters. We had to save a " boating floatilla just last week from danger as they were right on the bouy path when a LARGE cruiser swamped them from its mega-wake and one guy fell out. No life jackets either,, just OLD ski belts.

Anyway, great to SEE the water patrol. Great job, and the CHECK was justified. Keeping US honest.

Just my thoughts ( for what it is worth )

  3. glad to see you posting Dave.

Were you there yesterday? I didn't see anyone when I went by in the boat.

I'm going back this Sunday if you want to hunt some big fish?

Hey, Geoff Way to tame the 'Ole 4ML with a NEW apprentice. I was out 5:30a on Rice caught a baby catfish on my 2nd cast with My fav.~~ Terminator T-1. I had a few OOS "eyes 'too Also, I had another offer to HELP some storm victims down the highway from us then I went for a " castfest " SaturdayDusk on Lake Seymour / Trent River area.. not much to speak of but some OOS Bass and they were promptly released.

Yes, I am going to be coming up to the " cot " for the weekend.. SO for sure let's throw some line... and sawing of downed trees too I suppose.

  4. Hi Fellow Hobbyists... My name is Dave I was referred by GBW ( who has a family cottage on the same lake as me ).

Geoff and I TRY and get out on Four Mile Lake( Burnt River/Bobcaygeon area ) as much as we can. My HOME is in Hastings, as RICE is the 5 minute EASY FIX when I get the shakes..

Have been out 5 X already this early season and have been meeting with Avg. sucess. Gearing up for MUSKIE Hunting and already have ordered some COWGIRLS from Mike P. ( Thanks Mike loving the Purple flashed ULTRAlite BTW.. ) and a LOVE getting out Rain or SHine. Thanks for all the Update posts RE: conditions and choices of tackle et all. Peace Out

    Dave

  5. I went up to see my folks today as it was my dad's b-day. So I packed my car with the kids, dog and fishing gear. I left the Mrs at home as she had a lot to do for her other job (part time travel agent).

Got to the cottage, said "so what's the plans for the day" and I was told "pull the hot-tub from here and out to the deck". :wallbash: So my mom looked after my kids while my dad and I took out a window and small section of wall and in 2 hours all was back almost like we never took it apart. :thumbsup_anim:

We all had some lunch, give my dad his b-day gift and then I'm asked "are you going to go fishing now?" My reply was "well we are her for your b-day so it's your call". I got in about 40 min of fishing and I was rewarded with a 49.5CM walleye for my efforts of the day. The "Magic Grub" worked again! I was all freaked out when bringing the fish in because it fought like a 9LB SMB! I have never had a walleye fight like that before!

I landed it (Bass tourney guy style) as I had no net with me, layed it on my new "slot-stick" and I was happy to see it was right there in the slot to go home for a feed, woohoo!

I did about 10 more casts and decided to head in because I had a meal and I was getting another sunburn. <_<

When I get a chance I'll add the pic to the report (tomorrow).

I'm not sure what my dad appreciated more for his b-day. The gift the kids picked out or the work done around his house/cottage? Either way, I'm beat and ready for a shower, beer and bed. Cheers.

    Geoff
