  1. Some JB Weld judiciously applied should fix that reel then you can keep it for newbies.
  2. Two trolling spoon manufacturers from BC-note they look somewhat similar but are different sizes/thicknesses and have different action under water. Sitka Sand Lance Spoon Nog's Iron Needle
  3. Who used lead core on a downrigger? Certainly an odd way to market something unless as mentioned it's just to move product to people who don't know that much about what they're buying.
  4. I know the Bedsprings it's where I first fished Sturgeon years ago-glad to hear it produced for you.
  5. For the Fraser your timing couldn't be better-with the right guiding outfit you can do Salmon in the morning & Sturgeon in the afternoon-fresh Salmon Roe is the best bait out there. If you hit stable barometric conditions the Sturgeon fishery can be unreal but again you need the right guide Fraser Rivers guides have a well deserved reputation for not working too terribly hard many specialise in long boat rides and taking extra time to photograph small fish. I have seen one outfit who I will not name take a full 90 minutes to monkey around dragging a mid sized fish across the whole river, slowly take pics, take a walk on the beach, splash some water around the deck and the slowwwwwwwly make it's way back to the original anchorage all the while my partner & I were nailing fish between 4' & 6' left right & centre and releasing them after brief violent fights. If you want a recommendation shoot me an email [email protected] For the Kelowna area you timing couldn't be worse there is some decent Trout action but by fall water is warm and levels low action almost nonexistent except for a brief early morning bite.
  6. Seriously one of the Very Best trip reports I've ever seen posted anywhere-simply outstanding! And as mentioned you are a Great Dad!
  7. Overall quite a successful trip. Some pics from July 28 & 29 with Spirit Bear Charters Weapon of Salmon destruction One of so many Happy angler! Gorgeous colours! This was my fish-the scrapes you can see came from a Shark who tried and failed to snatch the fish as I was fighting it. Local denizen Waiting on a Hali bite Good Night Nurse! Lotsa Butts! Self explanatory This is how you spell success! One of the nicest WCVI days in recent memory Closeup of Shark bite/scrape
  8. Cool shots-Thanks for posting!
  9. That guy trying to flog tonnes of that carp crap should contact BC salmon farms-the price of their usual feedstock has risen and they're now trying to feed farmed fish things you would. not. believe.
  10. Any Salmon that's lost that many scales isn't going to live to spawn might as well have killed and eaten the thing. Great pics BTW.
