Thanks for the help. I have fished many of the spots you all mentioned. Just never had luck. Kars was my favorite place but never caught anything. I went fishing on the Quebec side yesterday, and caught a lot of small bass but that was it, But were they ever biting!

Looking for help for shore fishing around Ottawa. I've done the rideau river and got nothing. Looking for anywhere up to an hour drive. Thanks for the help. Roy

I just want to catch a real fish! I started fishing again last year, and only caught some small sun fish, and other little fish.... I want to catch a nice bass something that I will have fun to reel in. Roy

I guess us french people get off easy.. Bought my card at lebaron last year and everythign went well. This year I renewed right at the Sportsman show, and am good for another year. I guess we'll see when it is time for a new card again. Roy

I have no boat, but I have been out fishing in Ottawa.... The water is running to fast for anything by the locks. I went to bait island, not good there, then went to black rapids (i think it is called) and the water is too fast due to the dam, and then drove to Kars Ont. but the ice is still on that part of the Rideau river. So nothing caught yet this year. Maybe next week it might be a little different? Roy

I'm bored today... the wife took the vehicle to work, so I am stuck at home. Oh well it is raining anyway. But tomorrow is a different story. I want to go out and see if the water is thawed and maybe fish a little :)

Anyone know of any spots open for shore fishing in the Ottawa area? I was thing about the locks on Prince of wales drive, maybe under the bronson bridge. I want to possibly go fishing tomorrow since it is supposed to be nice. Anyone kow if Kars is thawed yet?

Hello everyone, Just wanted to take the time to introduce myself. I am a 38 year old Noobie to fishing. I started fishing again late last year for the first time in over 20 some odd years. The one thing I have discovered it that fishing is SO relaxing. I am slowing finding places to shore fish, bu I usually go to Kars Ont. on the old pier. All last year all my son and I managed to catch are small perch, and 1 really small small mouth bass from the Lock on Prince of wales drive. in Ottawa. So if you have great tips you want to share please feel free to send a quick message. May this yar be better for us fishing. Roy
