This really is a wonderful Lake.Much more cool structure that a guy could fish in many many years.Despite the poor moon phase we did very well.3 inch gulp minnows ,crawlers and frozen shiners all produced well. The boats were were well maintained and gassed by 7 a.m. each day I look forward to my return. That Pike came off Wolf Island by the way Connie. Kevin does indeed live to fish.and happy to share his info. This is a very reasonable trip into an exciting lake and I would recommend a visit to anyonewho has comtemplated it.

  2. I'm pretty sure the part about not putting them back in the package is a Berkely story to keep people from reusing. We save from trip to trip and put theem bag in the container with the others. Worksgreat on all aggressive and even passive fish.

  3. Well< I just got back from a week at Anglers Kingdom and it was everthing that I had hoped it would be.I'll load some pictures as soon as I can fogure out how. Weather included everything from snow and wind to movement stopping fog to 70 degree cloudless glass flat days. Typical Canadian weather. 6 of us caught roughly 1000 walleyes with 80 or so between 23 and 28 inches. We caught in the neighborhood of 100 pike with a bunch in the mid 30's and largest a fat 41 in. The people were very nice and accomodating and the lake is magnificent. Great acomadations for a remote camp.I'll try to get some more details for you when time permits.

  4. I would get a replacement transducer and then mount either the old unit or a new one up front. We run our front transducer on the trolling motor. It works fine and the only time you need the front one is when the trolling motor is deployed anyway. Special transducer for trolling motor mounting

  5. I guess there are some things a guy takes for granted. I fish Walleyes in Wisconsin in the Winnebago river system. Walleyes and Sturgeon both run up the Fox and Wolf rivers to spawn in the spring. For two or three weeks each year they are so thick it hampers the Walleye fishing. Sturgeon are not allowed to be kept on hook and line so all fishing is catch and release, but it is nothing to hook into as many as 20 per year . Over the years we have had them up to 6 feet long and as much as 90 or 100 pounds.

  6. My year is broken down into four seasons.

    1) Getting ready to go to Canada for the Spring Fishing trip

    2) Spring Fishing in Canada

    3) Getting ready to go to Canada fo the Fall Fishing trip

    4) Fall Fishing in Canada

I don't know if I am a true fisherman or not bu I'm pretty sure that I have my priorities straight

  7. We always love advice on new water, especially from someone who fishes it every day. We're going into camp late on Friday and Kevin said he'll have something hot and tasty for us to eat. Sounds like the perfect time to get to know each other and do some map marking over a bottle or two of good wine. We usually fish deep water lakes on our fall trips and have often had to haul the big ones out of 30 feet or better.3/4 and 1 oz jigs are usually necessary especially if the chop is substantial. How long is the trip from red lake to the landing?

  8. We always have several games/events going. We have a biggest Walleye/Northern/Trout contest that runs all week.$10 per man per category. One winner for each species. We usually have a $10 per man biggest Walleye on artificial contest. One day we draw for partners and have a Biomass inches by noon game. Most inches/all species. We have (South of the border) day.A morning contest concentrating on a relatively unfished part of the lake.(This forces us to explore and find new structure and fishing spots.)
