At the beginning of the spring season I purchased (and I quote) "100 - 1/16 oz Jig Heads with #4 Red Matzuo Sickle Hooks" on ebay for a total of just under $20 to my door. I use these for small plastic minnows for perch on simcoe. I must say, best purchase I've made all year (other than my boat).
Granted these are brand name hooks vs no name chinese stuff, but there are definitely good deals to be had on eBay for fishing!

There's always perch
Always my fall back on Simcoe as well, especially seeing as I can never seem to find these schools you speak of

My parents basement had some water in it this evening (in Oakville). The drive home to Burlington was not fun with the QEW closed between Appleby and Walkers due to flooding.
Could always be worse, hope everyones safe and dry!

I must find out what/where this lake is, lol
Time to study the crap out of google maps.
Some beauty fish there! I like how you state your thoughts and how you went about presenting baits to the bass.

Angler's Choice Wart Hawg - best stickbait i've used.
haven't had a chance yet to try it but htey make some awesome baits!!!!!
Love the wart hawgs as well. There's a pic of a simcoe largie that I caught on their product page! Purple flake and baby bass are my go-to's
Speaking of, hope to be throwing some wart hawgs under docks on cooks bay this coming weekend

I was trying to avoid the 403
Fair enough!

google maps is your friend.
you could always take
QEW to Redhill Pkwy
Exit Barton St. head east
Take Barton to Gage Ave, left on Gage
Right on King St
Follow King to 403
Good luck

Go figures,
just a few minutes ago I look out and notice a CRAP tonne of traffic on King St. in hamilton. Thought maybe there was a big concert tonight downtown or something. Everyones jumping onto the 403 for obvious reasons.
Missed the news tonight, thankfully I saw this thread. Will have to give the girlfriend the heads up to leave for work tomorrow morning a little earlier

Odd summer this year, thats forsure
During the work week it can be as cool as it wants, I wouldn't mind a few more scorching hot weekends at the cottage to be honest with you.
-
That is nuts!
Wish I could afford one though. Until then, the little mazda3 will have to tow my 14ft aluminum. Does a surprising good job, but man does my mileage suck when towing haha

no duties or taxes charged
can't wait to install it this week
-
But, plug in the 4amp/bank charger 2 nights before fishing and you should be good to go, right?
I usually use my current regular charger @ 10amp and it charges in less than a night no problem. By the way, mine came in the mail. Looks and feels like a solid unit. Going to install it later this week.

I don't know what I'm more excited about...the charger or the handy adaptor so I don't have to open the back compartment just to plug in the batteries!!!
Haha picked that up too!

24.95 shipping to canada, but still a damn good deal

At $65.....
-

no real need for this, but at 50% off its hard to say no!
-
Rachel and I will be there, probably not partying the night before though. That was a rough morning of fishing lol
Always my favourite fishing event of the year

Saturday on Simcoe most fish were caught within 4-6feet. Caught a few in a foot or 2 deeper but most action was shallow as we were mainly sight fishing.
Fishing the deeper water has always been something I've struggled with. I love when threads like this pop up on here because the wealth of experience and knowledge makes for a good read.
The presentation of choice for this weekend was baby bass coloured wacky rigged senkos and baby bass coloured caffeine shads.
Next weekend the spinner baits and crankbaits are coming out in full force lol

I say try it out and use the promo code they have for the first box @ $4.99. If you dont like it, cancel your subscription.
Then at the very least you get a bunch of tackle for real cheap.

nice report
fishing was pretty damn consistent on simcoe yesterday between 8am-11am. A lot of fish and a few worth weighing. The winds were a little much after 11.

I get them, got it as a gift for a year from my girlfriend. To be honest I love it. The soft plastics they give are a trial pack, usually of 3-4 baiots, and they always include 2 4/0 or similar size worm hook.
If you are curious as to the baits they send out, check their facebook page and look through the pictures. You always get a 'main' bait/lure, which generally has a store value of 10.99 or more.
Personally, I love getting a gift every month that is fishing related!

would NEVER even think about eating them. All the ones I have caught smell absolutely disgusting. Not to mention they are probably ancient and I have too much respect for them lol
