Hi guys and girls I need help again... I need your knowledge how to catch a channel catfish.. I never catch one of these before but I thought I give it a shot.. but first need to know where is good start to fish for them... I search for some of the location such as Dunnville, maitland, st clair, london, simcoe , ottawa.. but not sure where to go.. We all know that gas is very expensive now a days and as a newbie to this species I need the expert help: didnt want to waste gas As I live 2hrs away from all this location (scarborough) .. Sorry if it sounds like I'm bragging about it.. my apologies.. So I need help where to fish for them, I'm not asking for your hotspot but just to bring me to the right direction... Also what is the best bait for cats?... do I need to buy it from fishing store or I can make it myself?? Also I will be fishing in a shore... so shore fishing is preferable pls.. thanks for all the help.. All the cats experts pls drop me a line or two.. or pm me... bfisher

Hi guys and gurls, I need your help.. I start fishing steelhead last fall with my 13ft rod and I saw most of the fishermen in the river was using fly reel and I was a lil jealous because I dont own one... so I told myself in spring I would buy one and learn it.. Anyway to make a story short I was at lebaron 3weeks ago and saw a pflueger trion, the way I look at it looks decent and its cheap compare to what you guys owned.. My question is, is this a good fly reel for steelhead for that price?? I have no idea what so ever what to look for, hows the drag, smoothness.. things I need to know... what type of line I need to used? Is it okay to used my 13ft shimano converge rod for this type of reel or I need to buy one... my budget is only 350... for everything... thats the only I can afford right now... any help I would appreciated... you can pm me if you dont feel like putting it here... thnx bfisher

Just thought I post this, I arrived 11am at the lake today and the ice was about 14" to 16" inches solid ice.. Saw few people fishin, few ATV's and snowmobile. Anyway I fished for about 4hrs today and got few hits and lost 2 while reeling in... Alot of fish in the sonar but its hard for the to commit, very picky.. Only got one today here's the pic. http://i1105.photobu...rman/photo1.jpg http://i1105.photobu...man/photo-2.jpg thnx to all the OFC'ers who help for the info about the lake joe ice condition I manage to go out againfor the last time... bfisher
