Where do you catch pike in Caledon??
-
Anyone going tomorrow??? If not, where should I be fishing??? The water looks like its down over a foot and a half right now and the weed beds are coming up everywhere... really hard to get into the good spots with an electric motor right now. I'll be in my brand new 2011 Lund Rebel XL SS, black... if you are going.. I'll see you there

LOL Your odds are now higher of actually getting in trouble (if its even a problem) after posting this.

Funny that you say that because the Nottawasaga river down by Hockley Valley at 5th Line and Hockley road (near Orangeville) has been its lowest in a while. Almost too shallow for fish to swim up the river now... Especially in some areas...
-
Haha what luck eh... nice fish though, I'm sure you'll catch a bass next time hehe

I bought this same boat but black and have the 2nd console upgrade on the passenger side... we just put it in the water today!!

Those are gorgeous looking walleye... colors are beautiful to the teats.
Nice fish man! Love it.

If you have a map of that lake, then head over to duck bay, stay in the 5'-15' range and use long stick baits like Rapala's. Also the bay off of the mouth of deep bay is AWESOME for big pike. There is drop off from about 8' down to 20'. But this area is near the of boat traffic and some time boat control is a pain.
I have fished Sparrow for 30 years now(I'm 33), I love that lake and I always do well when fishing there. My aunt had a cottage in Macleans bay for years, but sold it years ago. We now stay in the trailer park Silver pines.
Yea I go for breakfast and dinner at Silver Pines a lot. We got swimming in Deep Bay all the time but I didnt know the fishing was good there too, thanks for the tip

Fish the shallow weedy areas... anywhere from 2-12 ft deep. Stay inside the bays where it is calmer. The boat traffic right on the severn river that goes directly through the lake is insane.... all the time. Fish end up going into the bays on the side of the lake because of how many boats go back and forth.
Use crankbaits for the noise in deeper waters... But when you get towards the bays in the smaller, shallow areas, use spinners (that dont drop deep) and the plastics that I use in the pictures of the pike I caught.
There is once section of the lake called Shallow Bay (right beside Lauderdale Point Marina).... Thats where my cottage is.

Wow amazing... well done sir!

What is a PB?? Someone tell me.... And NICE bass, how much did it weigh??
-
Hows the fishing there thinking of trying a new spot instead of Muskoka.
Usually pretty good, there is a lot of boat traffic tho. Fish the shallow shores in the bays, and the mouths of the rivers and you should be pretty lucky.

I ONLY fill up with high octane Premium 91 at any gas station for my 98 SkiDoo Formula III 600 Triple. INCREDDDDDDDIBLE difference between 87 and 91 fuel. ALWAYS use premium on small engines, it DRASTICALLY helps.

Hey there...
I have a cottage on Sparrow Lake and havent been up all winter (we dont have running water).. and was wondering if anyone has been up on that lake fishing this seasons and if so, how were the results??
I went perch fishing the other day at Terry Goy ice huts, on Simcoe.... We caught a few jumbos but nothing more.. Saw a MASSSIVE carp swarming the perch, and we were all jigging for it but it just wudnt move. It just sat there and stared and then after about an hour swam away. Thing must've been at least 30lbs. Was HUGE.
I plan on going for some ice fishing for whities on simcoe next, anyone got some good spots they can recommend? (Link me a GPS location on google maps)

That fish is insane!!! Just to the right of the 2nd pic is where my cottage is located!!! The white gas tank is Lauderdale Point Marina. I've NEVER seen a SKI that big my lake before...
Sparrow lake is awesome but there is a lot of boat traffic now which sucks.
Its nice to see our lake pumpin out beauties like that though.

Severn river by Sparrow lake and Lake Couchiching.... You'll catch channel catfish, perch, sunfish, and all bass usually. Dont know if the pike, muskie or walleye hang out in there too though.
