I just cleaned my garage out after a few years and all I can say is get rid of the old juice. When it starts to leak it's BAD!!! I find it swells most plastics I use and try to soak in it. (Yamos)

Do any of you guys intentionally go out in the rain? With the way the weather has been reported this summer I'm finding it hard to get out. Almost everyday I have available they are calling for rain. I have good rain gear but I call myself a fair weather fisher. Does anyone head out in a boat knowing or thinking it's going to rain?

First time out tis year..... We started out of lauderdale($25 to launch this year!!!!) and checked some grass beds close to the marina, third cast BAM! First bass of the year from the back of the boat burning spinner bait. I'm thinking ok this should be good we are doing something right? WRONG..went an hour with nothing.. Checked the back bays, nothing but dinks, on a side note the small river near the float plane is LOADED with pike. I had some crazy topwater pike action for a bit but lost a sunfish and got the heck out of there cause I am after the bass today. Headed out towards the islands after checking some spots in between, again some dinks... Got to the island and managed a 2lbs smallie that really thought he was 7! Tough day today, water was high, overcast conditions, cold and a little windy, lots of currant and muddy water. The weeds looked strange to me as well. Look very brown and dead everywhere. They even have a pretty good algae bloom this year. Very strange day. I just could not find the quality that I am used to from this lake. I hoping it was weather related and not signs of things to come......

Possible have an open seat for friday on scugog for bass. Need to find a replacement foot pedal as mine was stolen at the weigh in on saturday. I dont get some people, its a charity tournament and someone has the nerve to grab my Xi5 pedal off my deck while we were taking pics and dealing with the weigh in. Damn thing aint cheap! And hard to find to boot! Anyways.... Looking for some redemption on the lake this week. Had 5lbs on sat (4 fish limit due to the heat) and managed 12 sunday. Figures i find them the following day eh?well kinda. Winner had 16lbs sat. leaving Orangeville friday morning early and will be back in town for mid to late afternoon. Cheers!

LOL Thanks for the tips, I'm not sure I will take it up full time as I dont have the time. I would like to try it out tho. The HDS unit sits on the front of my boat so it doesn't have a battery I would need a lot for that. Think I will pass. But I will need a couple of rods by the sounds of it and some tackle. Are the $50 combos better than the $30? Also what size line should I be using for the walleye bite? Do you ever use braid with a floro leader like I would in soft water? Hey guys, as many of you know I dont have many questions when it comes to soft water besides who wants to come with me... Well I just got invited on my first ice fishing trip to meme What are the basics that I need to bring? Rod Reel tips ups? We have a hut, and buddies got an auger and I think he has a flasher as well. I am heading to Cabelas to stock up on some things but I have no clue even where to start. Any help would be great. I have an HDS5 should I get the winter ice package for it? Thanks

Anyone ever eaten these? Seems to be a lot of recipes out there. I got 2 on wednesday at sparrow, I threw them back not knowing they were invasive? Do we have to destroy these if we catch them?

Surprised noone has brought up the boat number color? I was told my numbers did not meet requirments because it was not contrsting enough? I have a dark grey background with very light color id numbers. I had to get white from can tire he told me. No ticket just a warning. A buddy of mine got stopped last year and he got the same ticket, along with many many more. Hes a bit of a mouth piece and prob told the guy off a little. I am so sorry! Jen will always be in our hearts here at OFC, she has touched so many people that she didn't even know. This thread got me though the death of my 44 year old mother 2 weeks after diagnosis. I am deeply saddned today. She will live on in everything we do here!!!!

They were for sale, did anyone buy them?

I stayed at sunshine cove for a week last year. We had the newest cottage that claims it sleeps 6 but it was really small. They all seemed small for the most part. They are livable, ok beds, decent kitchen. If you are just looking to fish than I may recommend it. I would ask for 1 with the lagest deck as it will give you more space. The location is great for fishing, close to the river and right in walleye country. It's not a very big poporty and the cottages are kinda close together. Met some nice people around the fire pit. They have an awesome fish hut with tables and freezers to store your catch. It's pretty cool The docks are the best part for sure, if you are taking a boat this may be a factor for you. The are decent size, floating plastic docks with power near them. The orientation of them breaks waves well, and they are close to the cabins. The owners live at the front gate so it's safe. Be careful around them the wife is a handful, they both seem to think their sh@t don't stink. They may have a fish fry mid week but didn't while I was there. My girlfriend at the time wasn't a happy camper as it rained pretty much all week and the cabins don't have a lot to do in them. We actually left 2 days early as we couldn't take it anymore. Hope this helps.

I have the plastic mount with the u-bolt type lock, but interesting setup for it! Not many option out there, I may be hooped!

Hey guys Haven't been around in a while, I stay away from fishing sites in the winter(its just too hard on me) Anyways I made a change up front of the boat and took my terrova off and replaced it with an XI5 so I could link it to the lowrance units, never thought I would ever see a motorguide on the front of my boat but here I am. motor seems cool and I used my existing minn kota mounting bracket with a small modification so the motor would deploy all the way. Also you can only use 4 mount bolts on the piece that attaches to the motor itself. Plenty for me! I will post a full review once I get to test it if anyone wants. My challenge is the XI5 doesn't have a channel in the shaft like the terrova did. Any suggestion on how I can mount the speaker or how to run the wire for the hydrowave? Its kinda like mounting a ducer on any motorguide trolling motor with elec steer. I wonder if I could run it through the shaft and drill a small hole in the shaft at the bottom so the wire could come out? or Just attach the wire to the shaft at the top and bottom and leave enough slack to allow it to turn and deploy but I can see problems with that setup. Cant wait for soft water!!!!!
