  1. OI fletchers is just south of Hepworth, Lorne is a great old guy and one of the best when it comes to reel repairs. Having boated Colpoys for 24 yrs I can honestly say when the marine forecast says wind and waves may vary due to shoreline effect Colpoys bay is a classic example of that. The high bluffs down both sides of the bay act as a funnel for wind from all directions. You'll need to travel nearly 5 miles down the bay to find salmon depths. the north shore is the most productive.

  2. Coming out of Byng Inlet heading north your first stop should be Black Bay, very sheltered and lots of places to camp and fish. 10 minutes north of that is Henvey inlet same applies there. Your still below the Key River cell phone reception is decent and so is the fishing. I've cruised/fished and anchored in both these areas with a 30' sailboat and now a 24' power boat. I've also been to the Bustards but would not recomend it for all the reasons above.PM me for more info if your interested.

  3. Misfish the trap is not new to the game, but playing systems only began in the 90's. It is killing creativity and boring the viewer. Philly could have challenged but they have been taught not to, maintain a 1-3-1 force the other team to make a mistake. Well the other team was saying not gonna happen. This was bound to happen sooner or later and it throws the game flow back in the NHL's court. If the game doesn't flow with speed passing and hits= boring. The call by the ref in my opinion was wrong, the play if whistled dead should have gone to center ice the offending team should have been warned and the next time you have this (for GBW) Delay Of Game. Who was delaying the game? If Pronger holds the puck for 20 mins, fastest period in hockey history. If Philly doesn't attack DOG?

  4. Under Hockey Canada rules, the delay of game rule for not moving the puck was removed some time ago. A defenseman or any other player can let the puck sit motionless for as long as he likes. You are not delaying the game because the clock is still running. DOG is defined as causing unnesessary stoppages or refusing to allow play to resume. If you can find the NHL rule that calls this DOG I would be most interested in reading it.

  5. The south channel is a great place to fish, once the cottages are closed and the boat traffic subsides, you've picked a good weekend. SM Bass, Pike and Walleye are your best bet but lakers and muskie are in there as well just harder to find. I'll be going out of Rose Point Marina this weekend shoot me a PM and I'll give you some info.

  6. Thanks Art & Rick , i see the chain makes a lot of sence , how come theres no chain on mine ........good.gif

Chances are the previous owner didn't anchor out. The Danforths are a pain to set even with chain. The Bruce is a far superior anchor and can be used with or without chain, there is a knock off of the Bruce available at CTC. 16.5 and 22lb models $50 and $70 dollars. The original stainless steel Bruce anchors were $400 US in the 90's and are no longer manufactured.

  7. Maybe not but I hear they cuss a lot.

Yes they do. We're all saiors by definition so I find that a broad brush to be painting with. The inference was probably directed at sail boaters but with out proof that they are guilty of these acts? Just saying .

  8. The year before last it was 5 bucks. Then it jumped to 15 last year. They wanted to make it 20 changed their minds because of the e-mails that were raining down upon them. The security leaves after everybody launches. So the sailboaters can vandalize your truck and trailer while your out fishing. The sailboaters do not like the anglers launching their boats at 6 in the morning while they are sleeping off their wine in the cabin.

I personally have only had nice experiences at the launch with poeple and that did not stop them from trying to vandalize our trailer. They put flat stones on the bunks, had my father not been on the ball when he went to get the truck I would have drove right up on to them.

Some guys have come back to their truck to find their lugnuts backed right off and in some cases gone.

Hazel treats the anglers right. I also launched out of Port Dalhousie and was very impressed with the way the St Catharines game and fish association treats everybody.

Unfortunatly Bronte is straight down Hwy 25 from me so that is where I must launch. I can't drive an extra 20 minutes each way to go to Port Credit. Too much gas.

Your statement is to say the least over the top, Sailors are wino's and vandals?

  9. I've owned inflatable for 21 years, the one I have now is a 11' Quicksilver with an 8hp Merc. They are made to be tenders for a larger boat, I own a 30' sail and a 24' power boat. I assemble my inflatable in the spring and disassemble in the fall and it's a lot of work and not a one man job! They are not light weight either, in a nut shell if I'm going on holidays and plan to do some fishing I tow a 14' aluminium and leave the inflatable at the marina. My thoughts would be buy the package and sell the inflatable to buy a tinny if fishing is gonna be your main goal.
