  5. Hi Everyone, I am looking to make my own culling tags, but was wondering if anyone knew where to buy the floats similar to the floats shown on these culling tags. Thanks in advance
  6. Hi Everyone, A friend of mine is looking to do a fly in fishing trip in the spring (May timeframe), and is looking for suggestions. He would like it to be in Northeastern Ontario if possible, and in an area where Bass season would be open, and there also is good walleye fishing. Anyone have any suggestions on where to go? I don't have a price range, I'll let him decide that based on the suggestions you can provide. Thanks
  7. I have never used the Cabelas Guidewear, but I do have the BPS 100 MPH and I have nothing but good things to say about it. I have fished in some pretty torrential downpours and it keeps me dry. I also don't find it to be too warm in the summer if you have to put it on when its raining, but its also warm when you need it to be in the spring and fall. I fished last year on the upper Niagara river in November when it was around 2 degrees and about 40km/h winds, and also running the boat right into the wind at 50mph and I didn't feel cold at all. Would highly recommend the BPS, but can't compare the 2 because I have never had both.
  8. With the navionics + card you decide what lakes are on your chip. Its a bit of a long process because you have to draw "squares" around the lakes that you want. On my navionics + chip I have all the lakes you have mentioned, plus some in florida that I added for a friend, and the finger lakes in the US, etc....
  9. Hey Paul, I have the navionics + card as well for those same areas you talked about, I fish lake st. clair a lot. It has a lot more detail then the old gold card had, but the detail isn't as good as say, Lake Erie. Depending on your unit, you also have to activate the "fish n' chip" layer to see the additional contours. The good news is they are always being updated and you can update the card as much as you want within the first year. The card was worth the money in my opinion. I think it was $199 but if you have one of the older navionics chips already, you can buy the Navionics Update card instead (this is what I did), and its worth $110. Works the same as the Navionics + card, but they charge you less because you already have a chip.
  10. Does anyone know a CNC machinist in the London area that does work with metal? Looking for someone that maybe does it on the side. Thanks.
  11. At Belle River Marina there is usually a helper there too that would be more than willing to help you launch so you don't clog the ramp.... Plenty of spare docks as well that you can tie to temporarily while you get your stuff in order.
  12. Thanks Steve.... any size to them or are these more a numbers area?
  13. Heading to Quinte for a few days this weekend, and was curious to know if there are any spots in the bay to catch smallmouth? I've always targeted Largemouth so I have bunch of spots for that. Not looking for specific spots of course, more general areas where you might get them. I don't have the means to run out to the main lake. Thanks in advance.
  14. I order all my stuff from luremaking.com too.... I called them and they allowed me to come visit their shop and showed me how to use the powder paint and see some other stuff. I'm sure if you ask they will do the same, again avoid Monday's.
  15. Is it possible that someone else stole it from you and he bought it "second hand"? Maybe do some more digging... If he said he bought it from someone, what I said is a possibility, if he said he bought it from some retailer, then your instinct is likely right. I don't think stealing it back is the right answer, you become guilty too and for $180 I wouldn't want that hanging over my head, friend or no friend.
  16. golfnow.com or underpar.com and then search the area you want... lots of great last minute deals on there, especially in the GTA.
  17. www.cbaf.ca Fun tournaments to be part of. Pay $90-$100 each year to be part of a member club. That fee covers the registration with FLW, gets you the magazine subscription, and a few other perks. Each club has club tournaments, and the federation as a whole has 5 joint events on different lakes each year. At the end of each year, there is a big 2 day tournament called the Fed Cup where each club in the federation is fishing for bragging rights, in addition to some individual prizes. Costs are $60 for boater entry fee, $40 for non boater, but the non boater is responsible for paying a $60 fee to the boater to help cover gas, oil, other costs, etc. Basically, tournament management collect the $60 non boater fee as the boater entry fee. As a boater, you get paired with a non boater for the day and fish as a team. Great way to meet other people. I've fished a bunch of these events and by far the most fun I've had fishing tournaments. In the winter, going to the meetings and listening to some of the top anglers in the province talk is an added bonus. Check them out, go to a local club meeting and see what its all about.
  18. Try here... I know they specialize in Mercury, however, they may be willing to look at others. http://www.teamxtrememarine.com/
  19. I have found that for LMB I use Colorado blades most of the time, I find they like the thumping blades and the slower moving bait. For SMB I use the willowleaf and reel that spinnerbait about as fast as I can. I find the SMB like the bait to be burning since they love to chase bait down. Water clarity also comes into play, when murky I use colorado, when clear, its willowleaf.
  20. Do they have some kind of exchange program on right now?
