Thanks to everyone who replied. I will be fishing from a boat using dipsy divers and steel line. I guess we can only try and hope to get lucky. Also could someone tell me the ratio of feet of line out to depth when using steel line. I have heard many different scenarios. I use 20 lb test steel. Thank you.

Does anyone know if the salmon are running in this area yet? Im a rookie on lake Ontario, mostly a northern lake fisherman. Thanks for any info and I hope to have some nice photos in my report, lol.

Rookie with the fly fishing. Is it worth while trying on the grand river in caledonia. What should i use. Bought a used rod and reel and wanna give it a go.

Does anyone know a good fishery within 3 hours of hamilton?. I am looking to buy a trailor to get away to on weekends that is within a 3 hour drive. I have seen some on stoney lake, but i am not sure how the fishing is up thier. I have always fished Temagami but it is just to far to get away for the weekend. If anyone can suggest a lake in the 3 hours range it would be much appreciated. Or if you have comments about Stoney Lakes fishery that would be great also, Ive heard a little about stoney but some say its good fishing and others say its tough. Thank you all.

thank you. With the money my fishing pals and i spend renting cottages we could get a trailor and search out a new lake. Im excited and have heard good things about stoney, hopefully i get a few more responses to convince me that this lake could be my new hole.

I was considering buying a trailor on upper stoney. I hear the fishing is decent, does anyone have comments about the fishing? Am i wasting my time on stoney or is it a good idea to try this new area for me out. I usually fish Temagami but the drive is just a bit to far for the weekend. Any comments would be appreciated.
