Brian, Did you snap a fishing pole or carbon pole for your hut. I have a great fix for the hut poles.

If weather permits and all things align I would love to get out on Nip this year. And assuming I can drive my vehicle on the ice, my bride assures me I have full insurance coverage while driving on a frozen lake. Hopefully good to go. ps. Would definitely be looking for over night on the Saturday. Any recommended lodges or cabins in the area?

-2. Getting better LOL.

Phaneuf had a golden opportunity to do just that and turtled. Perfect opportunity to show what kind of a leader the Captain is. Or Coward?

I think we're overdue for another date Pete ?

DM is in negotiation with B.S to determine DP's tolerance re: relinquishing rhe C. Proposed that ML's follow HABS formula & would allow DP an honourable way out.

Git r dun Jen!!! Best wishes & prayers from ours to yours. -
I quit being a leafs fan the day the captain started wearing a RED BULL cap in post game & media interviews. In my mind, that showed total disdain towards the organization, his teammates and ultimately me as a fan (ex) of the Toronto Maple Leafs. A clear show of disrespect that should have warranted a change in team leadership. When they take the C away and give it to a player who respects the title, I will hopefully be a fan again. It's no big secret that Phaneuf has no leadership values, no respect in the dressing room, and is given due disdain by his teammates accordingly.

Thx for sharing Brian ? Merry Christmas to you & yours.

getting that time of year winterizing your boat what do you do
Pikeslayer replied to skinny's topic in General Discussion
Guess I'm in the minority as well. Fortunate to have a certified marine mechanic who lives 5 km from the dock. He's always quick to respond to any issues when the boats in the water so I'm happy to give him the extra $$ for storage & winterizing @ the end of the season. The Mercs been idling a little rough the past couple of weekends, so we've arranged to do a bit of fishing in the next couple of weeks so he's familiar with the issues. I'll pick her up in the spring and she'll be good to go -
Hey Lew, Sean & I are forwarding a big kick in cancer's @ss for Diane. Prognosis is very encouraging for many more anniversaries to come. Both of you are in our thoughts & prayers. Best wishes, Simon

Thx for the heads up Andrew. I picked up 3. One for the Outlaws B'DAY gift and the other two are available for any OFC member who would like one. $35.00 each to recoup HST & Walmart PITA tax . I'm located in Streetsville (Mississauga). PM me. -
Travel through deep snow?. . Is there a prize for correct answer??

Here in zone 15, the cold front moved in Thursday afternoon. Fish were back on the feed by 11:00 am yesterday. We are getting big numbers of Pike & Bass on live bait & swim baits. No need for slow presentation here, they are very aggressive despite the weather.
-
On the plus side, fishing was on fire before the front moved in (zone 15). Never had a numbers day like yesterday in 90 minutes of fishing. On the down side, looks like I'll put the rods down for a couple of days while the fishies stabilize.

Off to cottage for an extended stay & family vaca. Looks like the stove will get fired up lay next Friday

Perhaps someone who lives in the general area could pass this along to the local newspapers?? It would be most worthwhile to see this lowlife exposed in print (even with face & registration blurred). No doubt that friends, family, local tackle shops & community members would recognize this Scumbag and give him the gift that keeps on giving. PUBLIC DISGRACE. If I wasn't leaving for vacation, I'd be working so some creative wanted posters and mailing them to every tackle shop & marina in the greater Windsor area. This Scumbag disgusts me!!

Fishing For Tyler Trip(s) With Pikeslayer
Pikeslayer replied to Freshtrax's topic in General Discussion
Good to see ya got on some Kings Andrew. This season was the most challenging in the 5/6 past years I've (and many others) been on Lady O. Frigid temps throughout the water column, no theramclines, lots of wind and scattered fish made fishing tough. Happy to say that the boat is now docked at the cottage and sad to say I won't miss LO this year As Andrew mentioned, day one was a goat rodeo. We covered skinny water and all the way out to 180 fow before increasing winds & waves chased us off the water just after 1000 hrs. I've had waves splash over my bow before but never fully breached a wave until that day. Was a quick, easy call and a good excuse to get Mr & Mrs Freshtrax on the water another day. Our make up date the following weekend, surface temps had risen 15* F + and confidence was higher . Plan was to fish 60-80 fow and until 0800 then head to the blue zone. We manged to keep west of the threatening sky (pic # 4), marked a few hooks and bait deep on bottom but never got a sniff. Despite making a significant sacrificial offering to Lady O!!! Snapped a 12 lb chrome shark off the starboard rigger, but the at least the sub troll probe remained attached . Pulled lines a few minutes ahead of schedule and headed to the blue zone. Took us a little longer than usual to get out there. As mentioned, we had fetch waves/big rollers to navigate but nowhere near the intensity of the previous week. Arrived @ BZ and set up one down rigger, two wire combos and the lead down the shoot. Port side wire with 'go to' spin doctor combo fired first and Angela landed her first LO rainbow. Port side fired again and Andrew dragged in a shaker. A couple of knock offs on the down rigger and finally the lead fires. Andrew brings in a respectable bow, but still sits second to Angela . A brief pull and a miss on the 'go to' and then the lead takes the best hit of the day (just as we were discussing when/how effective lead core is LOL). Pulled an additional 100 ft of backing, so with 10 colours out, the counter was @ 470 ft of line out before Angela started gaining ground. Despite a few aggressive leaps (I'm always sharpening hooks ), Angela handled the fish like a pro and landed the biggest fish of the day and a new solid PB by a large margin. As most often happens, just when we have everything dialled in and on fish, we have to pull lines @ 1130 due to family commitments for all parties on board. I'm really happy that we managed to get a make up date in and another successful Fishing for Tyler trip is in the books . Unfortunately, the second bid from John never materialized due to weather and schedules but John is on the calendar for next year. Not sure we'll get the goat rodeo adventures, but I gotta think it's going to be a better year ahead. Glad to see your 'master plan' worked out Andrew. Looking forward to seeing you on the ice in the near future. Simon -
Caught my PB muskie on the St. Lawrence!
Pikeslayer replied to Fisherpete's topic in General Discussion
Well done men!!! As hosts, I can't think of anything more rewarding than putting 'paying' guests on new PB's . Anxious planning & second guessings are so worthy of the smiles, pix and stories, especially when contributions to our OFC fund raisers are at stake. Congrats Mike, Pete & Andrew on a great day and everyone who participated in both the Tyler event & Fishing For A Cure. Looks like the $$$ bar is going to be raised for next year Note to Mike; I'm available weekend of Sept 27 or anytime after October 20th. Never caught a Muskie, so a PB is easily attainable- 35 replies
