  1. Try Wosley Lodge or Totem Point Lodge on Wosley Bay..part of French river system or Memquisit Lodge or Lake Aire on Lake Nipissing…West Arm
  2. Here is an answer to Fisherman’s post Lifejackets approved by the U.S. Coast Guard are not Canadian-approved. However, visitors to Canada may bring their own lifejacket to use on a pleasure craft as long as it fits and it conforms to the laws of their home country.
  3. Find a YouTube presentation on how to fine tune your Abu black max for the weight your will be practice casting. It will go a long way to mitigate many bird nests. Personally, I would use 30lb braid. You will be amazed at its efficacy!
  4. The new Pentastar v6 is rated at 6730 lb towing capacity. You should not experience any probs with this vehicle.
  5. Sea Foam is a highly effective gasoline preservative stabilizer that both protects your vehicle while it's sitting and cleans the fuel system when it's running. Sea Foam is the most comprehensive cleaner for your vehicle.
  6. The good deals at fishing shows have simply disappeared. If deals exist I would suggest you try the final days of the show. Vendors, at least in the past, did not want to lug merchandise back home so good buys could be had. Today many local tackle stores put on their own Fishing Show specials. Give them a try. You may be pleasantly surprised.
  7. Picked up a pair of Group 31 Interstate batteries from their plant in Stoney Creek for 70 bucks each about 5 years ago. Still going strong!!!!! Leave these babies in the boat wrapped with insulation for the winter. Top up charge once/month with on board charger.
  8. Find leaking rivets, as N.A.W. advises, and dab on a product called SICOFLEX, found at many marinas. Sicoflex, apparently, is used extensively on the west coast for many problematic leaks. An excellent product which I have used with great success.
  9. Take note of the players that Wilson had when he first came to Toronto. Virtually none are there now - traded to other teams. He couldn't get them to play for him and his style, yet they seem to be doing well with the teams they've been traded to, save Kaberle. With an entirely new team set up for him by buddy Burke he still cannot get them to achieve. Yes it's time to get rid of RONNIE!!!!!!!!
  10. Lets take a look at the common factor in the Leafs poor showing for the last few years. Change in assistant coaches - that's not it Team players have been changed over the last 3 years - that's not it Coach has remained with team thru losing years - that's it!!!!!! Time to get rid of Wilson. It appears to me that he cannot get the most out of his players. There appears to be NO fire in his approach to motivating his players. Note his benign response to poor plays or exceptional plays. Even the most opinionated and knowledgeable sportswriters agree the Bruins in their Stanley Cup win last year were over achievers - made so by the excellent coaching. TIME FOR RONNIE TO GO.
  11. Check out www.spoonpullers.com site for ALL the info you'll need to know. A very accommodating site with excellent info from knowledgeable fishermen. Hope this helps. Enjoy the excitement!!!!
  12. Grant Koppers has put a lot of effort into these baits paying particular attention to species detail. They are fine tuned and only use the best materials. I have used his baits and have found them quite productive. For what, I feel, is a high quality bait their price is reasonable in today's market.
  13. Target lures are exceptionally fine lures. A lot of research and detail went into the development of these realistic lures. I've had great success using these lures. Grant Koppers, the inventor, has spent endless hours studying and analysing fish characteristics and habits while guiding on the Niagara River. His enthusiasm for detail and quality is well displayed in a great product.
  14. Fished Wolesley the middle of July and had no problem catching fish. We, however, did not target walleye but were happy with multiple takes of large/smallmouth bass, perch and pike. We were able to raise a few muskie but, unfortunately, no takers. Water levels were down approx. 5-6 feet and the rice beds were non existent but tourny size largies were taken from under boat docks and weed shores in the main bay. Smallies were abundant wherever we found weed/sand/rock breaks. All our fish were released. 20 to 30 fish days were common. Though we had success we do believe the mentioned netting and seeing a trend where virtually every fish caught was kept have contributeed to dwindling fish hook ups.
  15. Have an older 150 Optimax (2000) Have had minor problems with blown gas pump gaskets especially the low speed one and major probs with the injectors. However, my extended warranty did cover these to the surprise of the mercury dealership. Mercury seems to stand behind its product. Spark plugs for the motor are quite expensive at $22 USD each and God only knows what the cost is in Can. funds. Having said all of this, if I had a choice I would seriously consider the 4 strokes especially the Yamaha. I have noticed more and more of these being used in Florida and the north.
