I believe the top one is a QuikFish (not sure of spelling) and the middle one is a Beno which was made by Mill Run tackle. Not sure of bottom one though.

Good to read the problem has been fixed. Incredible how we get to feeling lousy in small increments and then, when things are fixed, we realise how awful we've been feeling for so long!

I apologise too for taking it off topic, sorry about that. I had been following the migration of pike from Simcoe to the east, but of course they are migrating from both directions! Sure makes for some pretty looking fish though.

Tom, what strain of muskies were stocked in Lake Simcoe? Can they co-exist with pike? In theory, if they can, they may follow the pike down thru the Kawartha lakes chain. It might not help the Kawartha strain of muskie but would ensure a viable population of muskies.

Love the idea of giving up the GTA for Buckhorn! Glad you were able to make it happen!

Hank it was a great time sharing a boat with you guys! Watching kids land their first muskies is something special......having your own kid console you with offers of him hooking another and passing the rod over to help me out just made the laughs even better. The kids held up well casting muskie baits, and it was good to see their patience and determination paid off.

Amazing what hides in a skid! A lot of work to bring it up the way you did. We heat with wood here and a friend dropped off over 100 skids of mixed woods. Always a heartbreaker when you see good hardwood in them but it always seems it's full of nails and staples. Nice to see someone with the vision to take "garbage" and make it into something!

Strange how as the article speaks of funding issues at the same time looking at her picture made me feel sick and in need of a doctor! The irony was amazing.......

Good to read that after the heart issues you got out fishing and had success. Just being on the water is the best therapy, a fish in the boat just speeds the healing! That tiger is a pretty fish for sure. I fished Wednesday too and had nothing in the boat, must have been the weather.

We get both the blue and green herons on our pond, never at the same time though. Amazing to watch. Have never seen the green ones catch anything though. Was amazed how big the fish was and how easily he got it down!

No where else I'd rather be. Always easy to find the flaws, but we are so lucky here in so many ways.

As a kid my dad took me fishing, and while we didn't always catch a lot, he taught me to love fishing. I remember not being able to lift his huge tackle box as a kid, and he'd have me carry light weight stuff to the boat. Years later when his heart went bad, it was me carrying all the stuff to the boat and me just getting him into the boat. Complete role reversal, but I miss it. Even now I look to the front of the boat for him, and he's been gone 15 yrs. Since I'm fishing the same waters with my boys now (Buckhorn lake) I love it when my kids will say "Isn't this where Gramps caught that muskie?" Even though he was gone before they were born, it's as though they know him. I'm sure he smiles at the thought, just as I do.
