Best little image resizer for Windows
Bill Shearer replied to fishinfool's topic in General Discussion
Tried to download, but got a pop-up saying that it was not compatible with the Home Premium version of Vista, on my computer -
The badminton racquet is fun, I also have one of the battery operated swatters, that look like a racquet, but instead of the gut/nylon, it has wires. Press the button, and when you hit them, it electrocutes them. Craaaack! I really like the idea of rat shot, but can't do it (city livin') Sick.....

Send me your address, and I'll send you one. It's been in one of my tackle boxes for 25 years, and hasn't seen the light of day, for at least half that. Maybe you can catch something on it, as I'm pretty sure I never did.

Very nice shots of the Otters, Dave. You've just had ice out, and we are melting down here in 28-30C weather! Not fair! I'd like to do spring all over again, if it was possible.

It is absolutely not worth aggravating the border folks, our side, or theirs. They can, and will, do anything required to make you wish you hadn't. Practice bending over, and touching you toes Have a license for what you are fishing for, and a valid passport, as well as all safety equipment for the waters you are fishing. Not speaking from experience of the possible problems, just from never having any.

Just what I need to get into all those back lakes!!!
Bill Shearer replied to DRIFTER_016's topic in General Discussion
Very scary! But, makes those inaccessible lakes seem that much closer. One little stick-up that you can't see would certainly spoil the day. -
This kind of gives the benefits of the rod. I don't use one anymore, but it's still sitting up in the floor joists, if needed. I've already warned the wife not to try this with the rods I presently use. They certainly have their place, though.

North Of Superior Brook Trout ~ A True Adventure
Bill Shearer replied to solopaddler's topic in General Discussion
Well done Mike,Dave, and Bill! Truly a lot of work, but the rewards were priceless. -
If I was going out on Georgian Bay with my family of 4, the boat pictured here, would not be my choice. The big water, with it's history of fast approaching storms, and coupled with a lack of experience in boating, is a dangerous place to be. 18' would be my minimum. Think of the possibilities. (Most of them bad)

HOW TO CLEAN A PERCH IN 10 SECONDS!!!!!
Bill Shearer replied to splashhopper's topic in General Discussion
Probably think that the upload time had something to do with it,but at any rate a much better option from what I'd been using! I love Perch, as one of the better 'food groups' of marine life!! This just fills-in the catch-to-eat- ratio!! -
HOW TO CLEAN A PERCH IN 10 SECONDS!!!!!
Bill Shearer replied to splashhopper's topic in General Discussion
First time I've seen it! Impressed the hell out of me! Thanks! -
Tragedy for sure! Sympathies go to the families involved. Nobody ever wants to go through this, but the article stated several vehicles have gone through lately, so I have to wonder what kind of wake-up call does it take, to keep people off the ice with a vehicle? It will be happening soon enough on other lakes in our area, as well. Once the calendar flips the page to March, all bets are off, regarding safety on the ice, especially with a vehicle.

Nothing better than 'more power' Go for the 9.9hp You won't be sorry. Seeing as how you've already been impressed by the price of old motors, and their cost, go for the newest you can afford. In the long run, you will get more back when you upgrade..... and you will upgrade!!

Be the most opionated dude, you can imagine, Maybe you'll be disregarded! I tried to be more suggestive, but the censor filter took over! Big Brother is always watching....

A rant about sun glasses, selection, prices, and shipping
Bill Shearer replied to Sharkbait22's topic in General Discussion
One other option you have is to get the product shipped to the UPS delivery centre in Niagara Falls, NY, which is very close to the Porter Rd/US 62 mall. You can get the address through UPS, and pick up at a convenient time. Fish at the Niagara, till it opens,(1pm)or go for some wings/beer, afterwards. Saves on the broker fees, as you can do a verbal declaration at the border, on your return. NEVER take a chance, as failure to declare is just not worth it. Jeopardizes every crossing, if you are caught. -
Great post, and cute little guy, as well. Keep him centered, and let him choose his sports. He'll do fine.

Mike Good points! This model is aimed at the angler who is wanting to get a quality reel for a more affordable price. I've passed your concerns to Stuart

I just received the prototype of the Kingpin Imperial Weighs in at 9.03 oz. 4 3/4" diameter, spool width is 3/4" Abec 5 bearings. Going to be available in grey and bronze Slated to go in production by late spring, (after testing), and in the stores by August. Definately under $400. retail. It will be on display at the St.Croix booth Saturday/Sunday, at the show.

So many choices! Marble stains really easy! It is also softer than solid surface and granite, Many different and honest answers have been posted. I'm still doing custom kitchens, and I learned more information from the great posts here. We never stop learning... Good luck with your decision. It all comes down to the educated consumer.....

Seams if required are visible with granite, but not with quartz, or solid surface. Solid surface is easily repaired if burnt or gouged. They can acually cut a piece out and replace with a piece that was cutout for the sink. Not so with granite. I have granite at my place, and solid surface in the bathrooms. Both are lovely, it just depends on what you like the looks of.

ABEC7 or Ceramic Bearings ***video included***
Bill Shearer replied to MSBruno's topic in General Discussion
I've changed over many Centerpin reels to the Ceramic hybrid ABEC 7s. Although noisy,(bearing rumble) they sure do make a huge difference. No lube is required, so cold weather doesn't affect the spin. Worth the effort and cost, IMO
