Plenty of people parking on the ice at the launch in Keswick. 20 minute walk and yer fishin. Just pick your days, no hut needed.

~~Bad knees stops me from walking great distance. back in the 50s when I was yes I once was young we walk off Mintes about 3oo yds and phish for Perch and Herring

  2. I have been phishen up on Gull lake this past month with Haliburton Outfitters, up by Minden, and have yet to be shunked. Greg runs a great operation with great huts, I've had on Lakers, Whities, Walleyes, & Burbots,(ugly thing). losing some landing most. the cost is real low at $50. weekdays, & $55 on weekends. and if I may head up this weekend I'll be heading back up. Simcoe cost way too much, and with the season soon to close.

  3. ~~~~took a drive through town and stopped to take a look just off shore, about 100 yds, someone drove out with their sled and hit some soft ice, you can see where he turned around and came back to shore. Just off the Government dock large area of grey snow, suggesting a lot of slush. So don't be the first one put, there is no reward for it

  4. ~~~~Was there last year stayed at ParkPlace Motel, very nice rooms, from the boat ramp it's a very nice walk out, just up the raod there is Cosy Cove and again a great walk out, only problem it's 6" ofw most of the way out till you great to the main lake. There is a certain River the flows out of the lake which holds some great Eyes, but it's mostly night phishen for them. Got a report of a 10lber caught over the weekend

  5. ~~~~~Was up to Keswick on Saturday, to try some shore phishen for some Crappies, most places I checked had No Phishen signs posted, and we all know why. Even at Harry's, but I spoke with him and he said I could, but good luck, because the river was clogged with a thick(2") algae bloom cause by the fertilizers run off from the farm fields all the way down to the lake, lets hope the winds and rains we had on Sunday washes it out

  6. ~~~~Have a few small items to be repaired on my Widdle Gween Twacker, she is over 20years old. First item to fix was the Relay switch for the power trim, then there is the Speedometer Pilot sensor(little white probe at the stern). then them out on YouTube, and the task were very easy to do.

The only problem is finding the parts, have you ever called up a Marina, and was told "we'll have to order it in" and when you call back to see if it has arrive to be told they forgot to order it, or it's no longer in stock. Well I have found a great source for parts. " Central Outboard Marina" in Markham. Each time I've called they have had the part in stock, now I'm sure there are others, But i'll not be calling any marinas for parts

  7. ~~~~Well the weekend was a bust. partner was worried about being caught in a thunder storm, which didn't happen & high winds, also he had to be home by 4:30.So I didn't get out, I don't drive, so he was my way of getting my boat up there. spoke with another buddy who did get up there and the winds on the South side were bad, he bumped into too many stumps, and got caught up on a few also.

  8. ~~~~the last time I was on Wickstead there is only the one launch, and yes there are some stumps, and shoals to watch out for, but the main part of the lake if fne. Get your self some Green Go getters with worms or minnows. without giving to much away, look for the sandy beach there's a spur coming of it, which is great for pike & eyes

  9. Thanks guys, I'll taking my special C.I.L. Lures and as long as the MNR, and the Police are not around I should no okay, and I do have a good shyster, and a note from my head shrink stating I'm certified mentally un-balanced, and out on a day pass
