It's perfect. There should be no excuses. Hopefully he will think twice about keeping more than permitted in the future.

I sure don't think I could pull myself out if I broke through.
This is such a sad story. Feeling for the family.
Stay safe people.

I know many have mentioned Emily Park, but the lake is getting a super amount of pressure this year and the fishing is suffering from my experience. Pick a nice small lake in Haliburton County around West Guilford, you will enjoy the lower amount of boat traffic and no deer flies.

It’s amazing fish can thrive down there. The pressure has to be stupid high. I bet they didn’t enjoy the trip up.
Some that got off half way up eventually came to the top and the birds scooped them.

So am I right to assume you were bottom fishing? In 400 ft?😲
It was a workout, that's for sure! They would hit as soon as the bait hit the bottom.

Very cool. 400 FOW ? How far out is that from shore there ? I would of kept 1 fish to try. Some look like they are from the cod family .
7 -8 miles out.

Nice haul of fish Jimmer and really generous of you to let the guides keep them for the extra $$$$
Thanks Lew. I was only able to do that because 2 amazing fellow anglers invited me to go with them. Us Canadians are amazing to each other!

Was in Costa Rica recently on a last minute trip. Had some fun fishing with guys I met down there. I even caught a jack off the beach and lost some others. We did the best fishing in 400 feet of water, lol. We let the guys that took us out bring the fish to market to make some extra cash for themselves.

My suggestion is to find a place that has you stay in a cottage with all the amenities, then have them take you out to your hut for the day. Much more comfortable after a long day of fishing, more room to spread out and you can even have a shower. I don't find night fishing that great through the ice.

Nothing will change with the Leafs until the philosophy changes and there are only two ways to do that. Dubas and Babs have to go (Chris already said it). It's the same thing every game.

Thanks singingdog. It is a very enjoyable area to fish in the fall.

Yeah I was just wondering what’s going on? What caused the walleye collapse? And I wonder if they have researched the musky fishery? I couldn’t find any info poking around online.

There are still walleye in that lake. I believe any lake that is within 2 hours of Toronto is fished heavily and has an impact on fish populations. Yes, people will say it's the introduction of Crappie or global warming, etc, but the lakes are definitely busier these days. I haven't heard much about the muskie lately. Just my opinion.

They do not look like a size 13. They look the same as the size 10 Baffins I have.
Do you mind if I ask how much you paid for them?

The lower French is a hard nut to crack for muskie, you really gotta fish it like a river opposed to a lake. I had one nice blow up after a week of fishing for them (Early morning and evenings only) other guys at camp boated 4, including a 54in giant. We'd have completely different stories for that week, although for me the scenery is enough to keep me coming back. I'm definitely not a hardcore muskie guy but I thought I put a decent effort in over 7 days. We did destroy the walleyes though, haven't had walleye fishing like that in a long time. We stayed at Bears Den, I'm sure you drove right past it on your way from Hartley Bay Marine.
We stayed at Bear's Den. The walleye wouldn't cooperate either. That's fishing though!

I don't even fish the French anymore, the slot limits are very restrictive and I do like to bring a few fish home for dinner. I have found some other spots that produce well but are in a different management zone (same area). Next time you guys want to go up that way let me know and I'll see if I can help.
Thanks Cliff, I will. The weird thing is one of the guys has a couple of cottages on a nice lake east of Parry Sound and we were joking that we would have did better there. However, there are no muskie in the lake.

No disrespect intended, but even some of our favorite bass lakes for tournaments could have widely varying results from tourney to tourney and year to year. If your going to travel for a trip you would like better results?
None taken Ohio. I even mentioned to the guys before the trip that the fishing probably won't be what they expect and maybe we will have better success in another location. The response was that it's not always about the fishing. I agreed and joined them. The potential for one of those giant muskie is what drew us there. I have fished for muskie many years and have had many skunks and many exceptional days, it's just the way it is. It is a long drive though when traveling alone.

I don't know if I could or would judge a lake on a 3 day trip.
Hey Ohio - This has happened a number of times for me years ago and I stopped going. Just couldn't resist the invite to get away.

The Lower French.
That's a disappointing result Jimmer. Personally love the French, and I'll scoot down to the Pickerel river: Ski in my avatar is from there. That stretch can be a tough fish and then sometimes someone flips the switch and it's on fire.
We have fished the French years ago, more down towards the lake and did well the first year, but results declined from there and we stopped going. Two of the guys that were with us were there a few weeks back and did very well with the muskie and landing one over 50" ; also catching a few others over 40".

Those tigers are awesome looking. Even the markings of the regular muskie are nice in St. Clair.

7-mainly bass fishing. I found I had to move around a lot to get numbers. There are some real tanks in there though.
