  1. Looks like a lot of fun. Wayne was well prepared.
  2. Great write up bud. Thanks for the company and the laughs, great trip! Here's just a few more images from our amazing trip: 'Till next time......
  3. Sweet. It's been a crazy 3 day chrome-a-thon. I think this time I'll let Moosebunk share our adventure with everyone. For someone who's never caught a steelhead before he sure caught on fast.
  4. Wow Ben you're really getting the 'ski's dialed in! Very, very impressive my friend.
  5. Well done Mike! As far as the waders go, on the plus side Orvis is great with returns. You'll get a new pair from them with no problems.
  6. Cool post buddy. You ever gonna drag yourself away from the hunting and join me for a day?
  7. So Bunk just dropped by and says to me, "What did you think of my big spec dood?". "What big spec?" says I. He standing behind me as I type this LOL! Amazing fish, amazing post and a beautiful new house buddy, congrat's!
  8. Sweet! It's nice when you make the right choice isn't it? Did Joe get any?
  9. VINDICATION! HAHAHAHA!! Beyond the hat it was an outstanding day. That particular river can be a tough nut to crack at times, when it's going good the success is extra special. The power of those fish were amazing. Hopefully you have better luck retrieving the pic's bud. If you do I'll post a few more..
  10. Mike I just realized I was supposed to message you last week as I read your reply. Very sorry!
  11. I still havn't managed to retrieve the pic's from last Thursdays incredible day of fishing. I tried everything that was suggested to me so far with no luck. In any case here's a few more shots from Saturdays outing with BillM. Bill's rosy cheeked beauty once again: A funky looking male coho. Fishing dead slack water with a big, bright jig under the float. This type of fishing is a lot of fun as you constantly twitch, twitch, twitch the float, even popping it every once in a while. The ho's it seems can't resist and the hits are savage: One of a handful of steelhead: And finally, the reason we were there: Gold baby, gold. Cheers
  12. I just cancelled my Bell satellite last month, it was like picking off a nasty scab, man did it feel good. Nothing but problems with them from the satellite reception to the sevice...just brutal. Not to mention the 2 year contract they make you sign. You should have shopped around.
  13. Huron or G. Bay? It was an interesting day to say the least.
  14. Gustavvson looks amazing so far. Big, fast....a lot like Luongo. What a great pick up.
  15. This gentleman located in Caledonia, ON has a line of truly amazing line of float rod blanks made for him by CTS in New Zealand. http://jccustomtackle.com/ These are currently the cream of the crop imo. Very, very light, but tons of power. Graphite is in my opinion in between imx and glx in quality. I agree with you on the shorter rod. One of the blanks he's got is a 12' 2pc, and I believe it's exactly what you're looking for.
  16. An alternative to loctight, simply wrap a small piece of 4lb test mono around the screw and put it in to a point where the reel spins good. Trim off the ends and you're good to go.
  17. Excellent choice on the IM8 over the IM6. If I were you I'd go with the 13'er.
  18. For those that read this board it's obvious Ryan is a good man. To top it off he seems to have a great wife and a very young, very lovely daughter. As is the case with most young families I'm fairly sure money is tight. Yes he was caught speeding. Would any of the judgemental types begrudge the man his right to attempt to get the charge knocked down? Never mind the fine itself but the jump in insurance might be a lot for a young family to handle. Do you think maybe he might slow down a bit in the future now? So many people so quick to jump. My guess is you'd best be careful casting stones as you most likely live in a glass house.
  19. Thanks Eric. Actually I hadn't thought of this in years. It literally wasn't 'till we were in the air and I saw the lake that I remembered. (I think I'm going to have to talk with Eddie, his bumps are getting a bit spammy LOL! )
