  1. Okay I was wondering if anyone here had a experience of ordering fishing tackle from TackleWarehouse and be charged with duty fees coming back to Ontario. I have just order my first batch of items I wanted and now going for the second batch but my girlfriend pointed out the duty fee issue. I was wondering if anyone know how it works and about how much it would be for about $130 worth of stuff? Any help or replies will be greatly appreciated! Happy new years!

  2. I started by just seeing a local fisherman fishing at a pond fishing for carp. My cousins and I decided to make our own fishing rods with broom stick and tied rope on to a safety pins with bread at the end and started to catch carp at a local pond with my cousins when we were 8.

  3. Seriously I never had WFN and I never touched my TV in my room, but here's a little tip if you guys are with Rogers and want the WFN channel. I own a couple of their services like TV, cellphone, home phone, internet etc. Call in into their customer relations and ask them for the group discount first if you have multiple services by them :D Secondly try to negotiate with them for any channel you want to request for. In my case I requested WFN for free because the only way you could have got it was to buy the sport package which cost $7.98. After negotiating with them for a while they finally agreed to give me WFN for free!

  4. I don't think mine is deep to the point where it's hitting graphite, but just looking at those scratches and nicks is bothering me LOL. I might give the nail polish or the fix it pro a try, I'm pretty sure a finish on a rod should be some what similar to a car. The fix it pro does say it dries on even and clear, so let's hope that works out.

  5. I have a couple of rods that I hardly use but today on the sunlight I noticed that there are minor scratches and nicks on them. But I have heard once it gets down to the graphite that becomes the weakest part of the rod and that's where it usually gives out first. I've heard people use clear nail polish to fill but that doesn't sound like a good idea. I recently saw a commercial on WFN with Billy Mays a product called FixItPro that fills scratches and nicks but didn't want to jump the gun without any experienced advice. So my question for the members that might know the answer, what is the best solution?

  6. Stuffing a hollow frog with anything is risky as you affect the ability of the frog to compress and thus the amount of gap availability at the hook set.

Ditto! I haven't had luck with scum frogs but did own one and find it too light as what JP said.

I tend to like the Bobby's perfect frog because of the lead weight in the back.

The new Tru Tungsten and Spro frogs have a nice finish but hear the body is a little hard.

I bought Zoom Horny Toads, I have seen many pro anglers using it in tourney, could help but to try some soon.

I bought a 7' Heavy power St. Croix Mojo Bass Rod with a Curado. Didn't get the chance to use it.

As for line I spooled on 30lb braid that was left over, didn't see the point spooling new 65lb line at the end of August.

Hopefully next season I get the chance to break it in and see how well the rod stands :D

  7. Hey guys,

I was just wondering if anyone here in the forum own this combo. I'm currently using a St. Croix Mojo Bass rod with the Curado but find the balance fairly off and the set-up to be tip heavy. So if anyone owns or had a chance to fish this combo please let me know what you think about it because I was planning to get match my Curado with it. Thanks!
