you got me on the quote...ghostbusters? I'm hoping to go after my first musky and failing that walleye -
uh..medium? It's about 1/2 oz. I was surprised at the perch that were nailing it.

Starting to sound like a broken record here.

getting a bit of a die off on clear lake as well. Mostly perch and sunfish. -
Not much of a report, but what the heck... Managed to get up to my in-laws cottage in between shifts this month. My honey do list was pretty large but I persevered and got through most of it. Managed to fish of the dock for an hour here and there. Had problems with the boat due to a faulty battery. Only managed a couple hours boat time. Nevertheless had some success for perch and surprisingly walleye off the dock. This is my first year targeting them so I'm pretty happy I caught any. First cast of the year = jumbo off the dock Another decent perch Tried setting up for some carp one afternoon, but had no luck calling them in. However I did find that the miller chill is my favourite of all the "lime" beers I've tried. Refreshing! p.s. I'm aware my setup is ghetto but I make do with what I got. Another jumbo A couple in the slot What was this guy thinking?! Caught quite a few decent perch and bluegills...and managed to avoid the bass for the most part. I could have had a nice little fish fry if I was so Inclined but all were released. Found that twitching a gold x-rap around the new weed growth off the dock was working well. Take care Mike

I had a lot of luck last year with the rapala wakebait.

I'm up all next week, though I think raking leaves and powerwashing decks might be higher on the to do list than fishing. If I see a boat tearing by at 51.2mph I'll wave

If you had panned 90 deg left in that first picture I could have seen my in-laws.

Darn it!!! Somehow I just knew business "savings" wouldn't be passed down to the consumers. I should start a business as a Logic Consultant. I think our gov'ts could keep me pretty busy.

I would probably listen to the members here who are trying to give you a heads up. They (bullheads) do eat crustaceans and mussels that filter the water (and all the nasties in it). For your reference here is the eating guide... http://www.ene.gov.on.ca/en/water/fishguide/guides.php Great reports by the way, keep up the good work.

I've got the daiwa 2 piece...but its only 6'6". Rapala makes one but I haven't seen it in stores.

Thanks Lew Do you mean in with the sunoco just past clear lake road?

Nice!

nice perch! is the pale colouration seasonal or because of location?

well, I actually don't have a 6500 series reel yet. I have a 5500 c3 that I like for tossing smaller stuff, but it has yet to see much use itself . This is the first year I'm using baitcasters for coarse fish, and it became clear to me that a clicker would be beneficial last week when I was trying for cats in dunnville. My attention span is pretty minimal! So I am still experimenting with gear and setups for different situations. I appreciate the input on the abu's.

Very well. Thank you for saving me from another mail order purchase I end up regretting!

interesting...I was thinking more for shorefishing catfish and carp. Perhaps I should have mentioned that in my original post. Thanks.

Does anyone on here own this specific reel in the 20 size? If so does it have a baitclicker, and what are your thoughts on the reel. I know some guys use the 30 size for muskie, however the 20 is all they have left. I thought for the price this reel might be a little more durable than say an abu c3 or c4. But I really want to make sure it has a baitclicker... I have been able to find out that the "widespool" models have a baitclicker, but the listing really doesnt specify. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?id=0078191125272a&navCount=3&podId=0078191&parentId=cat601360&masterpathid=&navAction=jump&cmCat=MainCatcat21404-cat21406-cat601360&catalogCode=OG&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat601360&hasJS=true Any help would greatly appreciated.

no worries on the link. $200 for a 6500 what? abu c3? If so that pricing is out to lunch! also not sure this is totally what you are after either but it seems like a good deal. Cabelas has a quantum cabo 20 low profile for sale for like $89 us. It is a saltwater reel with a really high line capacity. I would imagine it would be pretty durable. I can't get the link here from work but it is is the bargain cave section of the U.S. site. I was thinking about it myself but I cant figure out if the 20 series has a baitclicker or not.

...I managed to get out of there yesterday without breaking the bank. I don't think my willpower will hold out two days in a row!
