  1. Hey we have a cottage 16x20 near parrysound, off grid, we have 2x250 watt panels, and 4 big batts, that runs fridge lights and the tv when needed, we also have a pellet stove for the winter, when we need to run the small stove or micro wave we use the genny to add what ever power is needed.

this system has worked great for 3 years.

now on the flip side you don't get solar power when the panels are under 4 ft of snow, so in the winter months it cost about 20 bucks in gas to run the genny for the weekend.

  2. Lol we did it..sort of.

We bought some land near parrysound, built a 16x20 cabin, I picked up a 250 watt solar panel, mpp controller, 4 deep cycle wallymart batteries and an inverter..cost$1000 bucks, this will be our second year and we will be adding a small dandy fridge, we never ran out of power for the lights or tv and we used it every weekend, we figure in july we will be even for the cost of staying off the grid.

now what I learned is solar does not work there in the winter as you cant keep the solar panel clean all the time, we have a genny to supply power when we need it and will be buying a wind turbin for winter use as there is more wind than sun in the winter.

saying that we are very happy being off the grid for our little cottage.

  3. Beaut truck---I got the 2010 4 door f150----the back seat does have the leg room of a sedan

Well speaking from exeriance, my daughter was 9 at the time when a family friend had a large dog of a breed that was mentioned here, As the owner said he's a angel he would not hurt a flea, hes just a big baby....ya well the big baby decided to snatch my little baby by the face while we all sat at the table....lets just say i did everything in my power to have the dog put down as i didnt want it to happen to another person...I am a dog lover but when theres trouble with a dog...its time to say good bye.

  7. Where did you buy? I have a cottage up that way and I know a piece of land near me for sale...maybe we are neighbours now?

Thanks Raff,Hook and Rizzo, we picked up a sweet piece on Haystead bay rd, not on the water but very close, we are in the process of building, we are close to the timmies at the 214 exit. and only 15 minutes from the boat so it works out really nice.

  8. I put the boat to bed last fall and every thing worked .

This weekend I get it ready to go back in .

I changed the gear oil in it, then drop it in the lake.

    Fires up no problem.

Then put it into reverse, and nothing.

    It goes into forward. :dunno:

Every thing under the hood looks fine and moves the way it should.

Second problem is that the ball on the gas line keeps going soft and loosing its prime.

It's not the tank or the line as I have tried 4 different tanks and lines on it and it is the same result.

    :dunno: :dunno:

OOOOhh the fun......ok first you have a small air leak in the line ...could be the seal at the tank ot at the ball, next check your linkage to the gears ....Im assuming you didnt see and oil flow comming from the gear case?.

  9. I'm dragging the family tomorrow, as we are always ice fishing this time of year and there is no ice for the first time in twenty odd years so this looks like the best bet.

let me know if you go...and if it was worth it, befor i spend 200.

    Thanks
