  1. Very nice report and pics Ben. Congrats on the great season and beauty fish.
  2. They both sound OK. I kinda liked Remington a little better than Tundra though.
  3. A nice meal in paradise. Enjoy !!!
  4. Sweet fish Jamie !!! Thanks for sharing.
  5. Hard to beat the smile on a kids face when they're catching fish. Great report !
  6. Sweet fish workwear. Congrats !
  7. Nothing better than seeing the kids get out and enjoy some fishing. Great report.
  8. I've been using my Lowrance sonar & GPS unit for over 20 years and I love it. My bro has a 20 year old Eagle unit and it still works like day one. No experience with Hummingbird.
  9. Watching people catch catfish and the odd little bass in a small lake (large pond) close to home. Then I see a bright orange flash on the end of someones line and a few seconds later, a decent sized Koi is landed. Lots of condos and houses within a short walk of the lake. The Koi must have jumped out of their aquariums and flopped over to the lake all on their own.
  10. CPH, I agree with your thinking on the subject. There should be something in return for people's money. My daughter is on a rep hockey team this coming season. It will cost about 10 times what house league hockey would have cost. One of the dads is a doctor, but most of the parents have average incomes. To offset the financial burden for some of the player's families, the team is selling tickets for a draw. Prize is $1500. They're calling it "Beer for a Year", but the prize can be spent anywhere. For some on this board, it would be more like "beer for a week".
  11. You live in paradise !!!
  12. You didn't do anything wrong. Thanks for the report. I do agree smaller fish are best for eating and have fewer toxins built up in their bodies.
  13. Hi woodenboater Welcome to our OFC Community.
  14. Welcome to our OFC Community. A great place for info from a great bunch of people. Cheers !!!
  15. Looks like a fine day of fishing an an excellent first report. Congrats !
  16. I don't mind at all that the OPP or CO's are out there checking on people. I have all the necessary documents and paperwork and if asked, I co-operate with the authorities. No problem !
  17. Hey, that's cheating !!!
  18. How to keep cool on the boat you ask ? You simply go fishing when it's not so hot outside. I open a beach umbrella while trolling. Hold it in one hand and steer with the other. That way I can tilt the umbrella as the boat turns to block the sun. If I get a hit or need to change baits, etc, I simply close the umbrella and lay it down, out of the way (2 seconds) I also have some cup holders that can be popped out and insert the umbrella. Only drawback is wind. Enough of a breeze will make it hard to keep the umbrella steady. I also use a wide brimmed hat and sometimes tuck a rag under it to protect my neck and face.
  19. Hi Jordan Welcome to our OFC Community. Thanks for taking the time to introduce yourself. You'll find lots of helpful information here.
  20. .....but they have a boaters card, so they must know what they're doing......right ??? I guess some people believe if they passed the boating test, anything stupid thing they do on the water is acceptable. Common sense just can't be bought.
  21. WOW !!! Now that's a sweet report. Pics are fantastic and those shore lunches are making me drool. We all know Monique can catch fish on her own, but how much did you have to tip the guide to hook a fish on your line when she wasn't looking ?
  22. Buy the fitting at Canadian Tire and bring it with you to pick up the tank. Just show it to them and ask if it's the right one before opening the package. If it's wrong, you can always return it. Good luck !
  23. Very nice report Bob. Glad you had fun on your trip. Come see us again soon. Cliff......you da man !!!
  24. Sweet wally !!! Thanks for sharing.
  25. I had a 1975 - 20 hp. Merc from about 1985 to 1995. Ran like a clock. Took 2 or 3 pulls of the starter cord to get it going after it had been sitting for a while. If it was warmed up, it would usually start on the first pull. There's a marine mechanic in the west end of Toronto that worked on outboards for my friend & I. He used to do quite a bit of work from home, but I'm not sure if he still does. Check your pm's for his name & number.
