  1. I want to move up to M/H - waht do you think of the Daiwa Aird X line?
  2. Hey guys, was out with my son and casted an x-rap while fishing for smallies and the rod tip (top 8" or so) just snapped! It's a Falcon rod (medium action, 1 pc 6'6"). Pretty disappointed as it's only about 1.5 years old. Anyhow, I am looking for a recommendation for a casting rod that would pair well with that reel. Budget is $90-$150. Should I go with a 1 pc or 2? 6.5' or 7'+? Thanks!
  3. Wow!!!
  4. So what exactly is a power handle?
  5. I watched carefully.. It doesn't seem overly complicated... I do have a couple of other things I need to address on that trailer! I'll be back thanks guys!
  6. I only snooze when I am in my deer stand! 🤣
  7. I actually got a friend to help me... well, he did it! He's an electrician and insisted! He used the heat shrinkable connectors and staggered.. works great!
  8. Are the Daiwa Lexas good for trolling, too?
  9. I've read through this again, and I am a bit unsure as to how I should proceed. If I use the plastic connectors, I won't be soldering this, correct? It's a matter of getting the for connectors lined up (staggered or else it'll be too bunch up), but apply the shrink wrap overtop? Or am I getting this wrong? The other option is to solder, then shrink wrap (which is what a friend of mine did for me in the past) but then it is not waterproofed, correct? Are these the connectors? https://www.princessauto.com/en/25-pc-window-butt-connectors/product/PA1000000709
  10. Shoot, I cut it before you posted this because I brought it with me to the store (before I ordered it on Amazon!) I guess I can still stagger it...
  11. And it seems like longer rods (9+) are preferred over shorter rods - why?
  12. Is this the rod? If so, very reasonable.. I just feel like I should go easy spending big $$ at this stage.. I'm looking for quality but maybe something that doesn't have to be the last muskie outfit I buy. I'll look at the Curado too.. any specific one? The ABu 7001 suggested above also seems reasonable. I could pair that with this rod. Is this the Curado you're referring to?
  13. Price is very reasonable.. looks like a good reel. So what rod would you pair that with?
  14. Is this what you're referring to?
  15. It's coming today
  16. I'd like to try them too! Keep us posted
  17. So it seems that waterproofing to the extent that this is possible is the way to go? I've never used insulated crimp terminals.. I'll look into this method. Thanks
  18. excellent suggestion.. so are you talking about marine goop? Should I shrunk tube most of the exposed wiring? I should take a pic to explain what I mean.
  19. Yeah, I figure having been that close to one is a big plus and a positive start. Did you guys read that story I shared about my dad and I on Geo Bay (port severn)? He hooked into a monster that was over 50" - scary big.. accidentally on a tiny, crappy tire no-name lure. Hot and tired, we were just ready to go home then BOOM! Of course that fish was lost.. didn't have it on for more than 12 seconds..
  20. That's where I ordered it!
  21. Sold out every where. Crappy tiirw too. Since Covid there are still so many backlogged items. Feels like we live in communist Russia sometimes!
  22. Thanks man! I just watched video. ReAlly easy.
  23. Guys, I have hunted in -29 plus windchill siTting in a deer stand. I can take unpleasant weather but I hate wet/damp weather. yesterday turned our great weather wise. Overcast and slight breeze.
  24. Plus the rain makes my hair frizzy
