My son and I use top water lures for Stripers in the spring and have had this happen several times . When we see them coming we stop the action and usually they swing away at the last second but sometimes they hit them hard and we have to unhook them . So far they have all flew away unharmed .

The Doc's are my favorite the rattles help sometimes . Easy to use and handle the waves nice when its real windy . Jackpots I use when its calmer . I have several whopper ploppers they really make some noise and have caught several nice fish for us . We tried the Muskie sized Zara's they are OK but don't swim as good as the Doc's . We fish for Stripers in the spring its a catch and release season in Maryland you have a chance at some over 40lbs my son and I use Muskie topwater lures for them 90% of the time so we get lots of practice working them

We use them for Muskie and for Stripers in the spring catch and release season when the big girls come in the fresh water from the ocean . Nothing like having a 40 lber suck one down

Yes Misfish top left one I use the 120 lb test one for Muskies

Sorry I thought I pasted a picture of the Stringease multi use clip but it didn't work . You can buy them at several online shops . Do a search and look them over it will help your problem no opening snaps just a quick twist . I have most of my Muskie buddies using them now so far everyone likes them

Hhere is the stringease I use it for Muskies it comes in different sizes for Bass to Walleyes makes changing lures quick and easy . I been using them the last several years on Cowgirls and Bulldogs never had one fail or break
