  1. What I'm trying to figure out is if the US is that much worse off than Canada why is our dollar so weak compared to theirs.
  2. Kudos on letting it go, but it woulda been in my deep fryer for sure!! MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM Fish and Chips for dinner!!! Sweet!!!!!!!!
  3. Mike told me the story already. That was the reason for the post.
  4. It's easy to be confused by all the blinkin' lights and stuff. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO pretty lights!!!
  5. What's the sign say?? ?? ?? That looks like private property to me.
  6. He may have taken them down but it's too late. They will be on backup in youtubes' backup set and then archived forever!!!!!! HAHAHA You are going down LOSER!!!!!!!! More than one person has reported you for illegally taking fish. Get out your Wallet. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
  7. Last year there were a bunch of guys who went to Alaska on vacation and kept illegal fish and posted it online. They were charged and convicted.
  8. Don't forget the giant Lakers and Brookies in Lake Nipigon.
  9. The town of Nipigon has always been a favorite of mine. Kenora is another good one so many good fishing spots around.
  10. You can be paying attention and still have an accident. That's why they're called accidents. Three years ago my friend was riding (not fast and not carelessly) and due to flat light accidentally drove his sled off a 30 foot cliff!!! He ended up with a broken hip and ribs as well as other injuries, but could have just as easily died in the accident. Even riding 20 mph I have had issues with flat light and not being able to see dip and bumps that could easily cause a person to get kicked off the trail.
  11. Look up small engine repair on the yellowpages. Any small engine shop should be able to fix it for you. Here's a start for ya. Small engine Repair Listings
  12. Yes it's available as a blank only. There are 2 and 3 piece versions, but I have heard the 3 piece is quite meaty. Batson/ Rain shadow XST Steel Head Blanks
  13. Mikey You left out the most important part of the report. Lets have a review of the new stick. Oh yeah, nice chromers!!!
  14. Not always. Ask Solopaddler about silver fishing in Alaska. I can also catch more early season pike on a fly that spoon, spinner etc. A well rounded angler will be open to all forms of angling as there is no one best method to catch fish all of the time.
  15. I remember those days........................................... Then they stopped stocking and left a 5 fish limit and the rest is history.
  16. Rates are cheap down south compared to up here. The hourly rate at Canadian Tire here in Yellowknife is $120/HR The dealers are no better. I do my own work and have for many years. Even doing oil changes myself costs me more than going to a Rapidlube in Southern Ontario, but I only use top quality filters and full symthetic oils as well. An oil change (done by me) on my Honda Pilot is about $60. I wouild hate to see what one of the repair shops in town would charge, It would probably be another $60 in labour!!!!!
  17. You should get one of the new 3 strokes coming out. They get the mileage of a 4 stroke are lighter than a 2 stroke and run on Beer Farts !!!!
  18. You want to make $$$$$ then start a Porn or Gambling website. Or possibly a web based liquor delivery service. Plenty of bucks to be made off vices.
  19. For line, if you a using a centerpin run mono. If using a spinning reel you can run either. I like braid especially when bottom bouncing as it transmits what's going on under the surface so much better. When bouncing I run 3 feet of flourocarbon leader for a stealthier presentation. On my centerpins I run either 8# Ande or 12# Raven with 4 to 10 pound leaders (flouro or Maxima Ultragreen). For braid it's 15 or 20 pound Power Pro with 6 to 12 pound leaders.
  20. Sounds great, good luck with it. I'm sure you will be happy with it. FYI, if you re-read that post, he actually said that it took a little longer to get on plane with two people (big person) and the smaller 4 stroke but neither engine would get up on plane with three people on board. the only thing i've noticed is if i get a big 2nd guy in the boat it takes a while to plane out (it wont plane with 3 of us) whereas with the 25, i'd get it up on a plane fairly quickly (still wouldnt plane with 3 of us)..
  21. I agree 9.9 is IMHO optimal. You can even use it to power a zodiac or 12 foot tinny for smaller waters. I'm looking at a 9.9 and zodiac for flyouts and kicker for my 18 footer.
  22. Yes and he also noticed a big difference in fuel consumption which is what the rest of us were saying. So to the original question A/ if you're not a speed freak and want to save on fuel and not have to smell 2 stroke oil go with the four stroke. B/ if performance is your goal and you don't mind spending more on fuel and oil go with the two stroke.
  23. It's not a friggin' Bass boat it's a little john boat!!! You think he's going to be rocketing down the lake at 70.
  24. Just 15 years guiding experiance. We ran 30 horse 2 strokes at the lodge for years and when we switched to 4 strokes our fuel consumption dropped a between 40 and 50 percent. This is not based on a single event or even season but over 15 seasons of running one or the other for two to three months a year. Before we made the switch we were carrying 3 or 4 fuel tanks when we were making our longest runs but after the switch were able to cut back and carry only 2 and still have 1/2 a tank left after our longest day runs. With the 2 strokeswe would burn 1 to 1 1/2 tanks more.
