  1. Just make sure you take a paddle with you when you go out. You'd be hooped if you broke a fin.
  2. Saw one in December on my way South. First time I saw one was when ice fishing South East of Yellowknife. Saw a family group of 6 on the lake a few hundred yards from where I was fishing.
  3. Yeah meant 120. I bought it because of all the good reviews of the Tarpon 120's. I really want an Ocean PA 12 or 14 though. My buddy in FLA has one and it's awesome. Even my wobbly butt could probably stand up in it.
  4. Perception Pescador 12
  5. This is my yak.
  6. I'm planning on a side by side with a roof rack to haul a tinny on. With tracks it will be very capable and can go most places.
  7. They don't float but with tracks the'll go through almost anything. They also have more ground clearance than an Argo. But there is that non-floating thing.
  8. I don't trust those things at all. Bears are more predictable than moose. One year I was sitting on some access stairs into the Russian River in Alaska when a 2 year old moose came up the river. It walked into the pool in front of me took a drink and then approached me. As I didn't want to get my butt kicked I stood up and backed away. Turns out he was just curious as he seemed to shrug his shoulders and turn back out into the river. He was only a few feet away when he turned.
  9. Makes a good net holder too.
  10. Yeah, they aren't for big water or big fish.
  11. The same happened to me. That's why my boat was stored for 7 years. The interest came back though and the boat gets used a lot now from ice out to freeze up.
  12. Be more like 7 here. But then you need to account for the much harder ice and the work it takes to constantly clear the flights once you get past the top of them. If you don't say goodbye to your auger as it gets permanently welded into the hole. I would say you would get 3 at most. I wonder how long it would take you to drill through 60" of ice? With my 3HP 10" it takes 3-5 minutes to drill one hole. That's the reason I rarely drill more than 6 holes in a day. The most I have drilled has been 12 through 5 feet of ice.
  13. Yeah, those type of augers are pretty much useless by December up here.
  14. Yes. You'd be amazed what dealers will do to get a sale.
  15. Why not talk to your local dealer? They might well have one you could test drive.
  16. I've heard of this quite a few times over the years. Not a Ford thing.
  17. Yup, they are supposed to look like blood worms.
  18. Dan Be sure to post some good pics of your skis. I'm building a permy ice hut out of an old popup camper and want to put skis on it. I've got a pretty good idea what I'm going to do but more ideas are always good.
  19. You getting rid of them? been thinking of doing a table top with them.
  20. Try making up some of these. They are the go to lure/fly for whities up here. They are good in open water too. They run them under a float on the rivers. Just a hook, red bead and copper wire. You want to tie it on the line with a tight knot and then rotate the knot so it sits horizontal with the hook point on top.
  21. Toyota is moving Tacoma production from the Texas plant to Mexico. They are moving Sequoia production to Texas in it's place. This is so they can produce more Tundra's out of that plant.
