  1. That's one of the coolest videos I've ever seen. Great post!
  2. Hey guys. I'm from Guelph too. Fish the speed occasionally. Caught a decent smallie last year above the dam at the bend on Wellington. Carping is a good way to stay motivated on slow days. Didn't realize there was anyone else from Guelph on here
  3. classic! my dog would have had the bowl on the floor and taken me to it with him inside the sweater
  4. Hey, too bad to hear. I'm im the same boat except it was what they drank. lol
  5. Awesome pics! I wish I could have been at my cottage to see the ice go out this year.... to do list; catch 1st open water fish of the season ...........get on it
  6. Guelph..... but spend my weekends at my 'real home' at Hope Bay (Just North of Wiarton on the Bruce Peninsula)
  7. hey the catch always makes it worth the weather. nice pics!
  8. hey, great post! you must have a hell of a lot of patience to take pics of your hand getting pierced, a camera is the last thing i'd think of.... oh and...nice fish too...
  9. So.. After reading all the reviews of late about the Speed River in Guelph, I decided to give it a try over the last couple weeks. Last weekend i fished below the dam and was rewarded with a few little smallies. Can't really say I was excited about them, they were barely big enough to call fish. This weekend however, i decided to try above the dam with an orange floating rapala. Immediately it was slammed by an 18" smallmouth, and the very next cast was hit by a foot long pike. I could hardly believe it, all my life i've lived in guelph and never realized what a little fishing oasis the Speed River is! Thanks to all for reporting on the river and giving me some motivation to get out there and catch some! Looking forward to heading out to the river again today, hopefully will have some luck at another spot that has been recommended to me.
  10. Hey, went out last weekend on the speed over by the dam in the park caught a couple tiny smallies (1lb tops) below the damn in the current and saw some way bigger fish jumping above the dam. Small panther martin yellow spinner got both fish..
