  1. That has already happened to me with my clam. Now I have a top zipper and a bottom zipper with a 8" hole for the MNR guy to look thru next time he comes by to check me.I had the hut edges covered in snow and had to use the door to let him check me.Couldnt get my wallet out in the hut so stepped out and the flap blew in against the heater. 2. Here here! right on.That belt looks a little low in the secondary.Hard to tell with the older steel secondaries but I would bet it should be at least level with the circumference of the secondary.Newer ones you will be slightly higher in the secondary. Kerry
  3. Talk your buddy into wearing a mustang IceRider suit. Then he would look good out there and still have a PFD.Glad to see noone got seriously hurt.I wear my life jacket under my HJC floater coat this time of year.It has floatation too just not recognized in Canada.Don't even know my PFD is on. Kerry
  4. Nice to meet ya too! May see you there again. Not ready to give up just not a lot of available time this time of year.Would have loved to set hooks in the one those guys had on in the morning. Kerry
  5. That is a nice fatty! Talked to you at the launch. Kerry
  6. you don't need a trail pass but you do need the license sticker and insurance even if you are just using it on the lake. Kerry
  7. One of the easiest things you can do to help any of the older sleds is put the plastic ski skins on if you can find them to fit.Slush loves steel skis even when you are moving. Kerry
  8. It just boggles my mind that phone manufacturers and service providers or your dealer that you probably got both from continue to get away with these little 'scams'.When I got my first phone with data I had really no clue what or how much data I needed nor did I know at the time that with the LG I bought it didnt matter if the screen timed out or not if you checked a web page it was still reading it.Anyway I kept getting a message about my data needed to be increased blah blah.I ended up going on line to my telus account and that is when I found out my phone bill was going to be another 130 bucks and I had only had the phone for about 3 days.Well off to the local office I went and raised bloody h@#ll !! The girl at the office took my phone and showed me how to turn off the data which was like 4 different things to get off a web page.Rediculous!!So after being put on with a telus representative I got the overage reversed once they reviewed the data as it showed just the one page continuously being charged and then I had them turn the data off at their end so it couldn't happen again. It was two years after when I finally got rid of that LG and went to my current phone.Even now I find things or ways of use on my current Android that I see nowhere in a users manual.Computers(smartphones) are supposed to be easy. Anyway take all the people that probably don't complain enough about these things and add that up.Betcha companies make quite a LARGE bonus on that. Thanks for getting this out early Gerritt.Might help more than you know. Kerry
  9. Hey Mike, As a long time member who reads much more than he writes I just want to say your posts are awesome. If the mods had a problem you would have known it long ago. I read through your Lk St Joseph report last night.I went to sleep thinking about big Pike and tons of eyes- well while some of us can only dream about it SOME get to show us how it's done!! Kerry
  10. We used to fish Bass Lake (Orillia) fairly regularly years ago as a buddy rented on the lake for a couple years.Never saw a crappie, then about 10 yrs ago he catches two while fishing for bass. They are in the lake for sure now.I'll bet 4 mile is on its way in a couple years or so. Kerry
  11. John, I got the picture resized.Hope this gives you an idea.Batteries are group 24. Kerry
  12. Hey John. Can't upload a pic.LFile is way too large. Both my batteries are placed side by side length wise. They cut two battery boxes to fit on the existing aluminum plate in the bow to act as bases to raise the batteries away from the curved portion of the hull. These box bases are approx 1/2" high and one corner on each was cut to follow the curve of the bow.It raises the batteries so they are a 1/4" roughly away from rubbing or hitting the hull.Just have to check the straps to make sure they are tight. Kerry
  13. Hey John, I am running two in parallel. Blue beacon did the install for me.They modified a plastic box base so it raised the batteries away from the hull so as not to be banging or rubbing the hull.It is really only designed for one battery sideways but I wanted two.I will post up a pic for you tomorrow.I have yet to worry about battery charge.I use a 40watt solar board CTC has had on sale for 99 bucks.Batteries are always topped up by the next weekend. Kerry
  14. I have the Xi5 55lb 12v.I have it on a 16' princecraft resorter dlx with enough front storage room for 2 batteries. It will actually pull the boat at 2.8 mph on the gps although that is not my intent for use. I love it but two things- 1 no grab handle on the head and 2 I got the the model with the transducer and wanted to get an HDS 5 for the front to hook up to it as it will directly.Problem is Lowrance dropped the 5 model from the HDS series this year and the HDS 7 is way too much for my blood. It works as advertised. Kerry
  15. Sounds definately like you disturbed a ground hornets nest. The hole opening will likely be up to 2 inches and you might mistake it for a skunk or squirrel grubbing around the lawn. They are nasty.Sting first and once one gets set off they all go.Had a nest in our back yard that was 3ft down.Took 3 separate tries at burning it out before we finally got it. Good to here you are doing OK. Kerry
  16. I can tell you that after one winter with my GM trucks the factory rims start to have spots where the clear coat has blistered.I even had my 2013 rims sprayed with rust check spray and it didnt stop them from pitting and lifting the clear coat particularly near any balance weights. I think the rims are magnesium and not aluminum. Kerry
  17. I had a small guy follow on a home made in line spinner I call the skunk.A single large silver/copper blade with black Yak hair and a little white in the center with some flashabou mixed in.We switched over to walleye fishing after a couple hours and got 4 but two were in the slot.So at least we got a taste for the day.Dang wind sucked today. Kerry
  18. The plywood I got at Home Hardware in Orillia was 3/4 " Marine Grade maple. It was stamped marine grade. I think at the time I payed 110 + for a sheet but that was a few years ago.It was 7ply if i remember right. Kerry
  19. No one else piped in about this so I thought I would. I redid the floor in my old Starcraft about 9yrs ago.I used normal 1/2 inch plywood for the flooring and covered it with the duradek vinyl floor and it was great. However you made a point of stating you were going to seal all the wood including the cuts. When i did mine I used varathane on the two sides of the plywood and left the sides of the wood open so it could breathe.I figured in a marine environment it may be better to allow the wood a chance to dry rather than hold water if the bilge was to flood to any point.Maybe someone else has a better answer for that.Anyway the floor was solid and the vinyl was still in great shape when I sold it so I figured it was OK to do that. Kerry
  20. I have( as well as hundreds of others yearly) transported my live release fish to the festival office via a bucket of water in my vehicle after shore fishing one of the canals.Because it is a registered derby obviously the MNR...F is well aware that people are transporting live fish. All they would have to do is park at Lankin Blvd and Couchiching point and it would be like a free for all for tickets. Kerry
  21. I still have a pile of those and the original In fisherman, fish n facts.Great to look back at the old mags and see the 'new' stuff we are dying to buy today. Kerry
  22. My wife had the 2012 Sorrento.Great vehicle AWD very comfortable for an import.Very good power for a 2.4.Only problem was in town mileage sucked period. She does a lot of that. Now she has a Forte, not AWD but ok for her stuff I guess.I would think the Sorrento would meet your needs well. Kerry
  23. I just recently bought the 14.99 navionics for my S4 ANDROID.If you hit the options button when on Navionics there is an upgrade for 3.99 which gives you the 1ft contours. It is identical to the online 'web' maps on Navionics.Hit the navionics symbol to switch from normal to 1ft increments.Quite a difference and well worth an extra 3.99. Kerry
  24. Remember my old 18.First one I worked on.Pain in the butt pressure tanks but they run forever.Sounds great Bernie! Kerry
  25. Funny I fill at the Aamco on Front St in Orillia from time to time, it doesn't have ethanol free but the one on West St does? According to list vance posted no Aamco stations are listed.Shell V-power is all I use in my boat and sled. 1.50 anything is definately dear, glad I only use about 3 cans worth of gas a year in the boat.
