Exactly. the media is out of control and this person accusing AM is gold digging and should be ashamed damn, if that's a criminal charge, most of us would have got the electric chair for our Thursday nights back in University
-
Tonight Suzuki shot on Freddie after an obvious high stick then later threw his knee into AM's knee. Who on the Leafs is going to do anything about it? Nobody. The opposition can do whatever they want with no fear and no repercussion.

? nah nah nah nah, hey hey hey, good bye
-
good point the league has gotta fix that crap and make it fair for all teams, taxes, currency etc, bettman's such a little darn weasel who doesn't care about Canadian teams good riddance Sparks, Hutch stopped all 38 shots tonight
-
bull crap, the teams that win the cup or go deep are a balance of talent and skill, and size and physicality
-
I apologize, I was a little over the top (drunk) last night It's not just the fighting, it's the nastiness, hitting, cheap shots, intimidation, mouthing off, general crap disturbing and standing up for each other as a team that is important making a team tough to play against and come playoff time. Rinaldo signed his new contract and said "I don't care what a team mate does, I've got their back". That's huge. Small players play bigger. I love that. Looks like Harpur won't be with the big club. Typical Leafs decision. Anybody notice Brayden Point's new contract in comparison to Marner and Nylander's contract?

damn this, please ban me from this thread and site Art

I've said it before, gonna say it again, hockey is unique, a professional sport where fighting is acceptable, a player's actions could result in a beating, understandably a lot of players don't want a beating the current Leafs management doesn't seem to understand the importance of the threat of a beating, a beating broadcast live on nation wide TV
-
muzzle loader was added last season, I am questioning if Barrie is a $6 M dollar man or not worth it, why would they let him go and retain 1/2 of his salary
-
I would hate to be Muzzin or Harpur or Kadri (rip) on a team of pussies where nobody has your back.
-
yeah I'm darn serious, no size, toughness, grit, smash their nose through their skull kinda attitude, yeah I'm serious
-
yeah the D looks way different but the Leafs are just throwing crap at the wall and seeing what sticks, could be better, could be worse, who knows? The loss of Gardiner was significant. Unless Dermott takes it to the next level and Sandin and/or Liljegren become men it's gonna be the O and Freddie that wins or looses the game.
-
good question I don't think they're any better. They lost a couple players, picked up a couple, but managed to keep the core. It's possible the kids have matured enough and they're hungry and want to win, pissed off with loosing in the 1st round and are ready to step it up. It's obvious Leafs management doesn't buy into the idea that physicality, toughness and intimidation are important. I think that could be their downfall.

here's an obscure Marner interview after he signed his contract, warning, some salty language
-
Duclair was the best player on the ice. Nice brick you threw up the middle there Mitch. You demanded to be the 2nd highest paid winger in the NHL, now you're gonna start to feel the consequences.
-
the deal is done, I think Ferris should just keep his mouth shut and not be going on TV, I guess he enjoys the spotlight this media and social media stuff is getting out of control, Laine just said some really stupid, counterproductive crap
-
he wears designer clothes and can strike a pose, that's important, maybe that's why?

Reilly is under contract until 2022??? So the Leafs upgrade from Sparks to Hutch but now the sky is falling because of weakness in goal??? ? good luck to the scabs if Price gets hurt and Keith Kinkaid has to play I think the scabs are screwed, they only have $4M in cap space left, nothing to spend it on (Gardiner wouldn't even play in Montreal) and the whole team is basically garbage

A NUNAVUT NOMAD V. Quest for the Ekaluk.
chris.brock replied to Moosebunk's topic in General Discussion
I finally got the time to read this. It was one of my favourites. It's not necessarily the fish that make a great fish story, it's the little details and the things that happen way up north and the surprises and the author's honest feelings that make an interesting read for me. I've never done a trip like this, but I would have thought the outfitter would have tipped you off saying "just a heads up, guys are coming in on this day and this day etc". When Aaron and company got dropped off I initially thought they are going to be staying in your cabin with you, lol. Very interesting about the dolly varden thing. You'd think some biologist who also likes to fish would have pushed for some funding to get up there and do some sampling and answer that question. -
looking back, funny what some guys posted in this thread not too long ago- Marner is gone Marner will be a hab the Leafs roster will get blown up and decimated this summer the Leafs are screwed because of the cap lol
-
the pk is way different than 5 on 5 if the Leafs are clinging to a 1 goal lead, I want AM on the ice over Marner
-
just reported Marner has agreed to a 6 year deal, $10.9 M
-
I too am kinda pissed, at least very disappointed with Marner. I think he's tarnished his image. He's probably lost a lot of endorsements and far more money than his agent can get him because he now looks like a greedy pig. Point, Laine, Rantanen, Marner, let'em sit for a season, damn em
