I found out it was the transducer giving me the problem. I called the Humminbird Service Center at North Bay and they are going to mail me a new transducer for free of charge.

I am in Scar. if you want to try it with my 'ducer.

Hey guys, was wondering if anyone here are familiar with Humminbird sonars..

I was on the ice today and all of a sudden the sonar goes blank, so i gave it a reboot. After it has rebooted it gave me "transducer not connected" and goes right to demo mode. Ever since then I couldn't get it back to normal! Could it be a defective transducer? I just picked up this unit last month and it would really be a pain in the rear end if I had to send it out for repairs already

I'm hoping to buy myself a new float-reel-xmas-present as well haha.

 

Been using my aventa for the last 2 years and i'm looking to get an islander. I know down the road I will want to upgrade but I've heard nothing but good things about it. Just going to take it one step at a time and I guess it would allow me to really appreciate the quality of the craftmanship/engineering that the higher end reels offer.

 

Just waiting for a black/grey islander to pop up in the classified now ... the gold is just too blingbling for me
