HERMITAGE, Pa. (WOIO) - Authorities in Hermitage, Pennsylvania seized a boat on Tuesday that is believed to be connected to the viral cheating scandal by two men during a walleye tournament on Lake Erie.

According to reports from CBS affiliate WKBN, the Mercer County District Attorney and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources obtained a warrant on Oct. 11 to take the boat, registered to Chase Cominsky, into evidence as a part of the ongoing investigation.

Cominsky, of Hermitage, Pa., along with Jacob Runyan, of Cleveland, were caught cheating in the tournament held on Sept. 30 by adding lead weights and fish filets, that appeared to be previously prepared, to the fish they caught in an attempt to increase the total weight.

Lobster, lots of lobster. The whole idea is to go somewhere that I can get lobster fresh off the boat and eat until I can't anymore then repeat (perhaps a couple of times). I've dug clams in PEI and loved it but I think I might be too old to pull lobster traps so I would settle for buying them at the dock. Looking for suggestions, help an old man fill his bucket list 😊

Just go to any place that has lobster boats and be there when they come in captains should sell you some, or they used to few yrs ago.

Surprised to see that they said they are sending out a notification.  I've been at the same address for over 25 years, no notification within 2 months of expiry.   Anyway, got mine back by email today,  looks same as the old one,  saved copies, printed one off and promptly laminated it and it will go in the boat sealed box after supper.

They must pick and choose who they send notices to, mine expired this yr, I never received any notice.

In Napanee, the Nephew already has the water in and the docks.  Next week he should have the lifts in and we can launch the boats from the cottage.  Should be pretty easy to maintain distance on the water.

Napanee closed there launches today. Please be advised that due to the COVID-19 emergency, all municipally-owned boat launches within Greater Napanee will be closed as of Wednesday, April 1, 2020 for public use until further notice.

  6. THUNDER BAY - The province of Ontario is extending its declaration of emergency and closing all outdoor recreational areas to the public in an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19.

In a release issued late Monday evening, the province announced a new emergency order under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act to close all outdoor recreational amenities effective immediately.

The order will see parks, playgrounds, sports fields, basketball and tennis courts, off-leash dog parks, beaches, skateboard and BMX parks, picnic areas, community gardens, condo parks, and other outdoor recreational amenities closed to the public.

Green spaces in parks and trail areas will remain open but the public is being reminded to practice proper social distancing. All provincial parks and conservation areas also remain closed.

“I made a commitment to be open and upfront about what we need to do as a province to beat this virus," said Premier Doug Ford. "Based on the best medical advice available, we are taking further steps today to protect the health and safety of all Ontarians by closing outdoor recreational amenities. We all need to work together and do our part to stop COVID-19 by staying home, practising physical distancing, and avoiding social gatherings."

The province is also extending its declaration of emergency implemented on March 17, which included orders closing all non-essential businesses, prohibiting social gatherings greater than five people, and implementing off-peak electricity pricing.

The order will be extended until April 13, 2020.

“We are acting on the best advice of our Chief Medical Officer of Health and other leading public health officials across the province" said Christine Elliott, Deputy Premier and Minister of Health. "We will continue to take decisive action to stop the spread of COVID-19 and protect Ontarians' health and wellbeing.”
