Have not been out since last wednesday. My gawd,the snow walk is killer. Or maybe getting old is killer.🤯 Fish were tight to the bottom under all the herring and smelts. They would come in,but move on by. Finally the bait fish moved along and the it only took 5 min to hook up. One on the meegs , the other on a high hook preg scud I tied. Will be in the smoker in the AM.

The feed was on this morning. They were there from start to finish. 17 fow. That storm a coming sure had them chomping. Now I feel much better Simon. LOL

LOL Old school ice fishers know what I am talking about. Catch some perch and pop an eye ball out and put on a hook. It worked all the time. Even herring eye balls. I hooked up with a fella that makes rubber eye balls, Off The Dock baitz. Sent me a couple of packs to try out what I had visioned. Karma was sent back with some of my creations. Looking forward to giving these a go. The treble is on a fast clasp. That way if the eye ball get worn out or ripped off,you just remove the hook,slide another eye on the shank,hook back on the fast clasp and down it goes. The drop line is 10lb floro. Figured if you get a bigger fish,it will hold. I hope. The line is triple wrapped back and forth on the shank,so it will not pull out. I may need to try on some herring and whities before the late ice perch slay starts.

Hard to compete with 20 for $6-$8 But hey,catching on yer own tie,priceless,,,,,,,,,, High hook perch baits. #10 curved 2X hooks

I ordered a new meegs stick online this week. I am impressed with it already. 32" MED. This is the white fish king guy. He knows what would make a good stick for them. Paired it up with a Piscihfun Also have a new perch set up .

Looked at this reel many times. I found the release trigger is way to tight to the reel stem ( finger space ) . Found it uncomfortable. Nice free spool .

Really like it. I run 10lb on my float reel. So nice a smooth.

I used Crystal last winter. I was surprised. Inside outside. Like silk really. Was looking at this line today. Feeling it and looking at it,so close to nanofil. Was on the fence,but I have enough spinning reels full here,that I can load up my new ice fishing inlines for now.

Yup,I cook it all up fresh. Left overs in the fridge and eatn cold. All good. That soup is on my list this winter pal. Just need some noodles and hot sauce on the side. Thanks for that.

It,s a joke is what it is. Like really? We use to use wooden tip ups and you could still use one to bounce a meegs on the bottom and hook a fish. LOL

I,ll have all 4 set up by the end of the week. I do not fish deeper then 35 fow,so these are going to be great.

I am at the loading zone well before the transit starts. Hell,I am already out and set up,while the transit is being fueled and loaded. Nice work buddy.
