You are close to Catalina Bay Resort. There is a launch there. Also a restaurant. You're also not far from Oak Shores. I believe there is a launch there. But you are probably better off going to Catalina Bay Resort.

I got one of the Frogg Togg's from BassPro earlier. Nice setup and doesn't cost too much for something that may get used a couple times a year. I can't recall for certain, but believe it was the Toadz Rain Jacket I got. It was approx $110. I wanted one of those high end Gortex ones, but couldn't justify the cost since I'm not an Angler that's on the water 3 days a week rain-or-shine.

My buddy and I were on Pigeon on Saturday. We explored some of the north end, closer to the entrance of Bald Lake. It sure was a very windy day out there. Didn't know there was a tournament going on (but not surprised, they seem to always going on). Never heard of the Theona tournament though. I guess that is just for the residents of that trailer park? I live across the bay next to Kawartha Hideaway. He did well that day. A couple really nice ones. I'm afraid I was just the net man that day.

What lake and what tourny? I live on Upper Buckhorn and am curious .....

Thanks for the input. I just needed to remove the back wood/carpet from the seat since the rest of the seat carpet is OK. Last night I ripped off the carpet on the back of the seat and see that it is a single board screwed to the back of the seat. With the screws exposed I easily removed the back piece. I think for the time being, that is all I need to remove to do this partial carpet re-do job. Thanks.

I think it is one piece. But I'll twist and yank on it and see what happens.

It's a 2007 Lowe Fish and Ski 165. That pic isn't from my boat, but it's identical. I think the small metal piece on the left and right side of the seat that overlaps the seat approx 1 - 2 inches is what holds it in place. But I can't figure out how to remove or where the screws may be. I've searched online but most of the seat removal videos are about bass boats.

I got on sale for 50% off the Canadian Tire Outbound Shore Sandal. They are great. They are the same as the Croc Sandal and Shimano Sandal. I use them for boating so that I can easily jump in the water if needed and not care. I agree but I think it's a demographics thing. I see this first hand in my family. My kids are late teens and they watch almost all video via portable device and YouTube. Then there is me, I do 50/50 YouTube channels I follow and PVR some of the shows on TV. Then there are my parents, where they never go to YouTube and do all watching traditional TV.

Crap like that happens all the time on the supposed 'reality' tv shows. I know an outdoors man that writes for a column, teaches, etc. He did a small bit for a reality tv show where he camped the night in an old jail. Suppose to be haunted, etc. The idea was suppose to be unique, fun, novel, etc. He said the next day when the crew returned and had nothing interesting to show (no ghosts or strange activity while he camped out) they fabricated some stuff. Just like Ma and Pa use to say ..... 'you can't believe everything you see on TV'.

Yup. That can happen when guiding. Nothing is guaranteed. I went out for a 1/2 day guide trip a few years back. It was for Muskie in the Kawarthas. We did Stoney Lake. It was a gift from my wife. My son and I had our rods in the water then entire time and did what the guide told us. We got ZERO. The fish of 10,000 casts eluded us that day. But we did learn about muskie presentation, structure to look for, etc. Oh well.

Since his chargers were lower than the other repeat offender ... I wonder if he knew he was in a no-fishing location?

Agreed. Good to see they were out charging selfish and inconsiderate people. Fishing out of season, having beyond the limit, in a sanctuary .... etc. I was on the water (Pigeon Lake) with a friend on the holiday Monday and saw the OPP boat on the water, doing the rounds.

To add ... if it helps at all. I got my prop advice and prop from Buckhorn Yacht Harbour.

I have Lowe 165 (16.5ft) Fish & Ski with a Honda 75HP 4-stroke. A few years back I smashed a sunken island and tore the skeg off and slightly bend the propshaft and destroyed the stock prop. Needless to say ... I wanted to vomit when this happened. Anyways ... after the several hundred dollar repair, the motor looked brand new and I was happy with the repair. At that time I changed the prop. I commented that the boat is a little sluggish getting out of the hole and the fellow said to me I needed to change the pitch. I'm sorry I can't recall the spec at this moment, but with asking the fellow and taking his advice I purchased the new prop and I was shocked how much better the boat got out of the hole and onto plane. Changing the prop made a huge difference. And I didn't notice much of a top end change either. Motor achieves top RPM of approx 5900. That is within the owners manual spec. I get an approx top speed of 50km/hr. I can get it up to 55km/hr when its just me or there is little gas in the tank (boat has a 100L tank ... which can be quite a bit of weight).

Yes. It's possible not all police officers are aware that they are within their power to enforce fishing reg's. Many probably don't know what the different fishing reg's are and simply stay away from it. But for this officer to go over and discuss license and what is in season to what is not when looking at their bucket of fish, they certainly could and noone could question it.

The word from my Enforcement Officer acquaintance ..... Conservation Officers (CO) for the most part focus on mandated legislation......natural resources related. However, CO’s also enforce the boating regulations, alcohol, etc. We can arrest impaired boaters and do on numerous occasions. OPP are also considered to be CO’s under the FWCA. Not Fisheries Officers...........so they will and can ask you for your fishing licence. They don’t look at numbers, size, and seasons very often. So even though it may not be known by every police officer ... since not everyone knows every potential element of their job ... they can certainly enforce fishing legislation, just as Enforcement Officers can arrest and impound impaired drivers.

I believe if stopped on the water: OPP: check for valid boating license, alcohol (drinking and driving) and mandatory safety equipment MNR Enforcement Officer: check for valid fishing license and to review the live well (any possession of fish and if valid size and season) FYI ... I currently have this question out with a MNR Enforcement Officer that I'm an acquaintance with. Will update when I have 'the word'.
