  1. Two 27 series batteries in the front and single in the back. Helped having a built in gas tank. Big difference between a 169 and 145 though.
  2. I don't think this one has a remote? There were also some big changes to bluetooth around 2016. Guys on BBC forum will help you knowing what to buy.
  3. That is the same as the one I had on my 169. I'd like a foot pedal even though I used the remote 90% of the time.
  4. I had a 24V/80lb Terrova on my 169 with spot lock and ipilot and it was a game changer. You don't need the transducer built in.
  5. You can't. Alternator is to keep your starter motor maintained. I managed to squeeze 2 deep cycle batteries and a built in charger in the bow compartment.
  6. I was about to reply almost exactly what Randy said. Start with a compression check on a warm engine.
  7. Nice boat! You will be really happy with it. I'd repower with a 90HP if this motor is shot.
  8. BTW I sold this boat for $8500 in 2020
  9. I usually fish by myself and this boat has lots of room to get around. You can land a fish from anywhere. 2 people is fine too. A little deeper makes it warmer. Great hole shot and smooth ride when calm. Storage is pretty decent as well. Fit and finish quality was good. If I really hung it out, I could get 34 mph. It was hard to hit 30 with 2 people. I sold it because I live on Cooks Bay / Lake Simcoe and the boat got slammed big time when it got rough. It also leaked because there was a patch at the bottom and it was not repaired properly.
  10. I had a 1996 Princecraft 169 that I sold in 2020 to buy my Ranger Fisherman (same as the red one in the Meme above) Amazing boat and fished better than my Ranger. It had the original 90HP Rude on it and rode very well.
  11. I used a bolt then adhesive shrink wrap. On the positive connection I taped a clear hose over it to keep the 2 connections from rubbing against each other.
  12. My opinion is that why the Japanese outboards last so long is that they are old technology that is tried and true. Evenrude and Mercury both try to push the envelope .... and sometimes go boom.
  13. I've been shopping for a boat for a year and have found out a few things. Now is the time to buy a new boat. Dealers want to move them and manufacturers are offering rebates. They are also able to give you the boat show extended warranty on the motor. Also now is a good time to buy a used boat, but people are starting to store them and take them off the market. Very few good boats come up used. Finding a used Lund or Alumacraft that is only a couple of years old is almost impossible in the 18' range. Almost all used boats for sale are under powered. I caulk that up to slimy salesman selling a boat to an unknowing person at a price point they can afford. Be careful of people telling you how great there brand of boat is. Most people don't know s##t. (other than you guys lol) I would listen to people that have had problems though.
