  1. We use the guy that is on the N.W. side of line road 15 and highway 28, you turn left onto line road 15 off of 28 and it is the first right and then the first driveway on the right. He does a lot of business in the park we are in and he seems pretty good to deal with, also there is another wood place down line road 15 on the right just before you come to North school road, I have not dealt with him yet. Hope that helps.
  2. With the Mikuni carb it sounds like you have some varnish build up from fuel that has sat in the bowl, the best thing to do is remove the carb and strip it down and find out if the needle has stuck open in the seat or if the float has stuck or is no longer boyant. soak the carb in carb cleaner, blow it out with compressed air and re-assemble, pay attention to the small ports and make sure they are free of blockages. If it floods only when under power you may have a reed valve issue or check the engines compression. I hope this helps.
  3. I have owned a Sylvan Pro select 19, for 15 years now and it has not given me one once of trouble, and I use this thing in Lake Ontario, Lake Erie and the Kawartha's and I can't say enough good things about this boat. Sylvan and Smoker Craft both come out of the same plant so quality is very comparable. As for towing, the best advice I can give you as a mechanic is to have a good quality transmission cooler mounted, and service the trans regularly as the transmission will be the weak link when towing comes into play. Good luck on your search and pick what boat gives you what you want for features and layout.
  4. I would recommend the guys at Goldstar @ 905-662-0057, they are in Stoney Creek just off the South service road on Teal Ave. I have had work done by them before and their quality is excellant. Good Luck
  5. I happen to be a ex-ford tech with 18 years in it, when a turbo does detonate, there is usually noise from the dual stage turbo. As the blades start to go, it throws the balance of the turbo out. If the pieces make it into the engine the damage is un-believable and you can usually make out the turbo pieces in the engine only upon dissassembly. I would recommend your friend asks the dealer principle to ask the D.O.M (dealer operations manager ) for the district to come in to discuss the problem. If that does not go far then go to arbitration which involves both sides and a government abitrator. Check on line and you will find a great deal of information regarding the problems of the 6.0 L and 6.4 L engines, try Fordforum.com. Good luck.
  6. You can try Glenda Campbell in Bridgenorth, her e-mail is [email protected] and her phone # is 705-292-9551.
