  1. Excellent, I will be sure to drop in. Thanks for some insight, I cannot get out of this office fast enough!!!
  2. Thanks, looks like I am getting out of here right on time, the snow, it will blow!!! I have been looking to charter as well, found a couple through Google, I should probably talk to some locals when I arrive and feel out the bait shops as well.
  3. Heading down on Friday for a couple of weeks, has anyone any suggestions for salt water charters? I have a need for some tasty salt water fish cookouts!!!
  4. The smile says it all!!! He is having the time of his life out there, between skiing and fishing he feels he is in heaven!!. I have had my boys on the water since they were old enough to stand up, we have fished remote areas together and they are by far the best times we have spent together. One phone call telling them I want to go on a fly-in and they are booking their tickets right away!!!! I cannot wait for the soft water action to begin, we are booked to fly-in again for a week of fun and frolic!!
  5. Actually in Orillia at my cottage right now (Cooch), I have a crew going on the ice tomorrow! Tonight is fire pit and cocktails!!
  6. Gerrit, you are absolutely right, 23 lbs, damn fingers!!!! Had it on the scales in one shot close up on the scale, unless his scales are out of whack!! Another shot was it layed down beside the auger on the ice, nose to tail was the same length of the auger. Sorry for the typo, as large a mistake as it was!!
  7. My son is in Calgary and doing alot of ice fishing for pike, this is his best caught the other day, a nice 32 pounder for his wall. Yesterday he text messaged a couple of shots with an 18 and 22 pounder. Of course, all have gone back with the exception of this beauty. Damn kids, sure make the old man jealous!!
  8. If docked anywhere near Picton @ BOQ, lock everything in sight. There must be some serious unemployment rates in the area as I have been and know of many other anglers who have been ripped in the middle of the night. Did not matter if on a trailer or docked in a slip, the vultures would get you. I have had my lock boxes unscrewed, kicker taken off the boat, rods gone, downriggers dismounted, you name it. Just once I would love to catch someone with their head tucked under my tonneau cover with their donkey sticking out, they would surgically have to remove my Harley workboot!!
  9. Moose are very powerful animals, my money says he makes his own hole!!
  10. I agree totally with Gerritt, I just grabbed two whole strip loins and about 40 chicken breasts from a farmer buddy of mine and the steaks are outstanding and the chicken breats are huge and tender. I have been buying from him for about two years and the quality has been nothing less than 100%. It is all in the feed and the quality of the animal, I always know what I am getting and the price is amazing as well. this last bunch bunch I bought, the steaks were $2.20lb and the chicken breasts were $1.20lb. Two weeks ago I bought 7 top sirloin steaks (Black Angus) about 2 inches thick from the Barn in Hamilton, cost me $78.00 and they were really disappointing, chewy was not the word. Worst part is I even marinated them for about 6 hours before cooking and they were still brutal. Find yourself a farmer, you will not be disappointed!
  11. That was quite the day, I was around Nanticoke yesterday and could not help but get close to the action. That was the worst I have seen the lake in many years, great footage on the video, it was really something to see!!
