  1. Where I live in Niagara Falls must be right under the Lancasters flight path when they do member flights, hear and see it every Saturday over the summer pretty much. My father grew up in Holland during WWII, and if he is over when the Lanc fly's past he just looks up and says now imagine the sky filled with Lancasters flying overhead, hundreds of them, you just don't hear them you would also feel them in your bones.
  2. October can be an interesteing time of year at Wolseley. Like BigJack stated the Hamilton Chapter of Muskies Canada has had their outing the week after Thanksgiving at Totem Point Lodge for the last few years and have always been treated Great! Fishing can be tough and so can the weather, but there are muskies to be caught.
  3. Very busy, was there at 8:45 and already a line up to get in. Good Deals, $6.00 X Raps and other Rapalas, $12.00 spools of power pro, stocked up.
  4. Just a quick note about the upcoming Muskie Canada's Odyssey in St Catharines this year. Saturday April 29, 2017, http://www.muskiescanada.ca/general_information/odyssey.php
  5. We had a CO out at a Hamilton Chapter meeting for Muskies Canada last year and this was the first question he was hit with after his presentation. His reply was you can fish Muskie with a conservation license, you just can not keep one like the law states. As for doing a picture, technically no, but he said all the CO's he knows would not ticket you if you are handling the fish properly with respect and get it released fast. in other words remove the hooks in the net, up and out for the pic then back in the water to swim away to catch another day in a minute or 2 at the most. If you are a tool, bring the fish in the boat, leaving it on the floor celebrating and such and taking your time, taking 20 hero shots, endangering the fish, then ya you will get a ticket.
  6. That's what I have heard, 300 Curado's are being dumped in the States, supposedly lots of shops have them on sale.
  7. As Trump will find out, and possibly O'Leary, running a business and a country are 2 different things. In a business people are just another number on the spread sheet to do with what you may to meet the bottom line and keep the share holders happy. Not so much when you run a country, province, or state, the people are a share holder. I'm not a NDP'er, Liberal or a Con, just a human who wants a descent life, and is tired of getting screwed over so someone else can make another buck, and is very thankful I'm a Canadian and not living in what may turn into an ugly mess south of the boarder.
  8. Surprised no one has mentioned the Okuma Komodo, can get in Left with a power handle. Stainless steel gears. Have a KDS-364, 6.4:1 ratio. similar in size as the Curado 300. Been solid for the 2 years I have had it. Also has a clicker on it if you do wish to troll. Just ordered the new Komodo SS KDS-471, which is a bit bigger, closer to the Tranx and Beast size, but with everything inside Stainless now and a 7:1 ratio. Tough to find in Canada at the moment though.
  9. Pick this one up over the labour day weekend on Lake Erie fishing a reef in under 5' of water on a poper when it got dark. Was fishing for Small Mouth at the time. A few friends have caught some to on top water baits also but all at dusk or in the dark when the walleyes move into the shallows to feed.
  10. Just watch with Krown, find the right dealer as many have stated. Had my wifes Civic done a few times and it White. The paint is now stained around the door handles and hood line. They applied so much under the hood that it does not matter were you touch you were covered in it. Hands would get full of it just opening the hood to check the oil.
  11. Maybe now.... but only seen one caught at the mouth last weekend. Most were out in the lake, 15' of water on the bottom still. Very small Gizzard Shad jumping like crazy in the river, did see a few larger ones though when we seen the one Muskie caught at dusk.
  12. Have not done any shore fishing in years there but off the pier at the Turkey Point Marina was good. have to fish on the channel side as the other side has become very shallow with sand washed in from the lake. Another spot a little drive away to the East of Turkey Point is the village of Normandale, there is a small concrete pier there that I use to fish off and a small creek runs into the lake on the East side of the pier. I have seen small mouth, perch, pan fish and even the odd rainbow caught here.
  13. Shop around, I just picked up a 8' Shimano Compre 1 piece, not the telescoping model, Extra Heavy, Fast, 2-12oz, 65-100lb test line at Fishing World in Hamilton on sale for $130.00. Last year got an Abu Garcia 8'6" Volatile Extra Heavy 6-16oz at SAIL for $100.00 and this rod does everything from chucking pounders to being a back up trolling rod.
  14. Having grown up in St Catharines and now living in Niagara Falls I can defiantly say the drivers here are bad. A good 60 to 70 percent do not come to a complete stop at stops signs just slow down and roll through. Red light, turning right I don't have to stop if its clear seems to be the latest, seeing lots of this. But the Number one problem here is tourist and there GPS's. People but so much dam blind faith in these that they never look at a real map, so they do not have a frigging clue were they are going just when to turn left or right when the box tells them to. See it all the time cutting across multiple lanes to make the turn or cut off at the last second. People please just look at a map before your trip and get an idea in your head were and how you are going. We actually have higher insurance rates because of all the tourist driving in are area.
  15. The vast majority of "Big Box", Company, Outlet stores don't give a rats ass about you. Generally 30 days then you are dealing with the manufacture yourself. Unless of course you buy their over priced extended warranty program, then its OK, they will happily help you, and all they do is give you another and send the broken unit to the manufacture for the warranty repair. Why is this? Because they have ripped more money out of your pocket. I refuse to buy any large items from these establishments because of this. What this tells me is they don't want to stand behind the product they sell, where as the little guy generally bends over backwards for your business and will do what ever he or she can to help. Future Shop was the worst of the lot and look what happened to them.
