  1. Some excellent links there, also I'll second the JB's Fishing Depot suggestion, if you're heading out this way.
  2. Get the Alive minnows !! have used Gulp sinking minnows myself, was actually very impressed with the results. Btw, Rick Mercer this morning around 11am (I think on TSN or maybe Sportsnet) nailing small-mouth after small-mouth on those Alive minnows. The amount of scent they off give is sooooo strong, that the fish will litterally go after that bait over the real thing lol. The other day, was at a bass pond, my good fishing buddy was using YUM sticks and a few senkos (which are the usual norm), I had this leftover pack of "cherry seed" gulp sinking minnows, never used it cause I never liked the color, the baits are red w/ black glitter (I prefer watermelon or hot pink).. I decided as an experiment to see how it would do against my buddy that was using the good colored senkos & YUMs loaded with salt.. Lets put it this way, I outfished him like 12-3 & I was using cherryseed (not my favorite color, watermelon w/ red flake) Gulp sinking minnows wacky rigged with a 3/0 ultrapoint hook. Eventually I had to give him some when he caught on lol.. Also after a while we would even switch back to the YUM & reg senkos, dipp em in the gulp juice, and the fish would start hitting the other baits just like that lol, try it ! We also tried dipping them back in the salt aswell for added attraction, it worked well, but the gulp scent/bait was reigned surpreme for the day.
  3. My vote is for the lense flare theory, it looks like the light off the moon is bending with your lense somehow, since its soo bright it looks like it created an effect with your camera since its being over-exposed. Kinda like the pic with the night-time campfire pic that Greencoachdog posted on page 1. Originally I thought your camera moved, but I now doubt that from reading your replies. Beautiful effect though !!
  4. Nice report, early season bluegill is the way to go !! And that definetly is a sweet rig you got there UrbanFishermen
  5. Stoty, I think you will be fine Hookset, no worries man, I actually got a good chuckle out of your replies, as for the article, yes I think it could really change the ways of the Off-Shore fishermen especially if it really catches on, I'm really liking the conservation side of it, but my thinking is, if they were to implement something like this on a large scale, wouldn't a lot of fishermen be out of work ?? like there wouldn't be a need for fishing trollers etc, since you can just call the fish in ?!? I'll assume they can't do this with crab & lobster etc though.
  6. Nice looking jigs, I especially like the JUDGE, ICEFIRE & the FLIRT. You can't go wrong with really any of those colors, they're all great, have you made any in pure black rabbit-hair yet ? its my best goto color !
  7. Was doing my daily browsing this morning, came upon this "Fish Calling" article in Wired's website, what will these scientists come up with next ? No Bait! Fish May Respond to Sound By JAY LINDSAY Associated Press Writer AP Photo AP Photo/Steven Senne Buy AP Photo Reprints Your Questions Answered Ask AP: Passport Files, Picking Nominees BOSTON (AP) -- Call them Pavlov's fish: Scientists are testing a plan to train fish to catch themselves by swimming into a net when they hear a tone that signals feeding time. If it works, the system could eventually allow black sea bass to be released into the open ocean, where they would grow to market size, then swim into an underwater cage to be harvested when they hear the signal. http://news.wired.com/dynamic/stories/P/PA...-03-26-11-04-23
  8. Yup thats Ric ! That's a nice pic, I really luved going there (whenever I could) during the summer periods after bass spawn, we had a little g2g there once, waded it with Ric & the islands OFC gang there, was nice meeting some local ofners & putting names to faces !! btw, was that pic from a few years ago ? I too was just rekindling my love for fishing back then, just joined OFC too, mind you I wasn't as good at bass fishing as I am now, but I learned a lot from him !!
  9. Cabelas is usually quite quick, ground delivery usually takes 1-2 weeks, air is about a week (in business days) or sometimes less. Not sure if you'll have it in on time, but you should be able to track it.
  10. You should be able to pull some LMs outta there. As others have said use a very-slow/ultra-slow presentation, try downsizing, or using a buzz bait to create a commontion or even a 1/8 oz. mini-spinnerbait, they're excellent for times when the bites off and fish are a bit finicky (especially during colder weather). Works for me everytime ! About 1-2 weeks ago caught this descent LM using one of my buzzbaits (3/8oz. buzz rat), didn't think they would hit anything that day, but whadya know, on the 2nd cast, casted into the middle of the pond, at first I used a quick-retrieve then I slowed it down before shore & then WHAM !!
  11. Excellent report Frozen-Fire !!
  12. Ordered one of these the other day http://www.luremaking.com/catalogue/catalo..._pen_light_.htm
