  1. No, you need the UV of an incandescent or black light. LEDs don't emit much ultraviolet.

Check out surplus & dollar stores for lights to check for counterfeit money. Cheap, small black light that's good for zapping spoons.

There are also Blacklight/UV LEDs on the market, but I don't know if they fare much better than regular LEDs in terms of output. Cheap ones, like the ones used on cap lights, are dim and don't seem nearly violet enough for charging glow spoons.

  2. I'll be the second one to say Go Broncos!! I love my Broncos and always will. Although i don't think they're going to have a good year this year i'll still cheer like they have a shot at the superbowl.

Don't get too down on your Broncs. Until Dummervil went down, I would've given them more of a shot. But your biggest problem might me your QB. You might wish you still had Cutler. (What is it about that Belichick clan that breeds arrogance) McDaniels made a big mistake in getting rid of him.

  3.

When my son went on to Cortland State to play middle linebacker is when I learned to watch college football...we follow him and his team all over the country and really enjoy watching him play. But even now I still rather watch college football for various reasons....#1 reason is there is a LOT LESS commercials and a LOT MORE FOOTBALL played.

The College game is definitely a great tradition and a lot fun to watch no doubt. I don't watch it as much as I used to unfortunately. Bang on about the NFL and commercials. It gets worse and worse every year. You used to be able to watch an NFL game in less than 3 1/2 hrs, now their pushing 4 with all the stoppages. It's getting really annoying.

  4. Didn't you start this last year too? Just wondering.

If you're the same person I'm thinking of, you could pretty much have all your questions answered over at the fishontario forum where you posted regularly about the Salmon in Bronte Harbour. Why ask the same questions here? Once again...just wondering.

No offense, but it seems like you're trolling.

  5. A pretty diverse fan base on this board....and that's great. But I'm suprised that I'm the first to make mention of the 5 five-time Superbowl champion, 8-time NFC Champion, the 2010 NFC favourite and soon to be 6-time Superbowl champs, "The World's Team", the Dallas Cowboys. I've been a hardcore fan, and I mean hardcore, for over 30 years. :D

Good luck to everyone and their teams. Should be another great season!

BTW, anyone play pro-line/pointspread? How d'ya do last season? I was terrible. Hope to do better this year.

  6. No drifting issues yet. I used that exact Garmin unit on our trip. I do like to keep it zoomed out a bit though (20M or so) if not, you'll be making more corrections then actually walking in the correct direction. If you think you are going the wrong way, or the arrow isn't pointing straight ahead, take 7-8 steps to get your correct bearing them make changes if you have to.

    Good info! Thanks

  7. Fantastic report and awesome trip guys. All I can say is WOW! I especially liked your description of the portage in. I felt the smack every branch and twig as I read. Question for Bill. Do you ever experience any drifting on your GPS? If so, is there any remedy for it. I have a Garmin GPSmap 60Cx and drifts off position all the time. Just wondering.

  8. Yeah, why all the Italy hate. You don't win 4 cups without being great at football. To the Germany supporter, no diving when the Italians beat the Germans 4 years ago. That was one of the greatest displays of European football (by both teams) that I've seen in a while. In light of that I might understand your hate. I certainly don't hate the Germans. All teams engage in diving and dirty play. If you don't think so, you're not watching closely enough or you're letting your bias get in the way. I've also noticed a lot teams whose only recourse to surviving the group stages is to play a great game of rugby. That's kind of sad too.

My favourites the rest of the way, Argentina, Netherlands. I'd like to see the Netherlands win, I've got them in my office pool.

  9. It's a nice campground and lake, but they won't let you party much. The scenery is great and so is the hiking as the bruce trail runs through it. As far as the fishing goes, following the bruce trail east will lead you to a chain of lakes that are a little more secluded. But it's a bit of a hike. You can also pick up the trail from Crane Lake Rd if you don't mind leaving the campground. If you're gonna hike definitely get the Bruce Trail Reference Guide.

    Hope this helps

  10. I'm going on 2 weeks now. No vomiting for me but got everything else. Nasal congestion and cough are something else. I haven't had it this bad in years. The way I'm feeling right now, the symptoms could go on for another week. What's really frustrating is that with a newborn niece around I've done everything humanly possible to the point of compulsive hand washing not to get this. Hope everyone gets better soon.

  11. Agreed.

Did you see the look on his face when the camera panned to him more than once on the sidelines?

Every time, he was sitting there by himself with this weird grinch-like smirk on his face.

Was nice to see the smirk gone at the end of the game.

Yeah, what was it with that. He's been doing that since Caldwell pulled him from the Jets game essentially ending their quest for the perfect season. Really brooding-like. I thought he was gonna blow a gasket

  12. i took pleasure in seeing manning throw that pick.........maybe a few less commercials ill have to endure in the future.

No more pleasure than I had in seeing Favre throw that pick two weeks ago. Now that was poetic. I hope that drama queen retires and stays retired this offseason.

  13. It was a pretty Tough Go today, saw quite a few Anglers out,..but not many fish,..so I approached the last log Jam before calling it a day,....I decided to Giver a drift or 3,...not caring if I would break off, so I buried it deep in the Wood,..lol. sure enough..I felt a very light tap and set the hook hard and this pretty Silver Girl came out to play, I locked the reel down with my finger and Began Pulling her out of the Wood,...she was a little stubborn about it though,...just then I lost may balance and landed up on my butt, but luckily I kept the line tight,..so I kept fighting her from the sitting position for what felt like 10 seconds,....(Now I know why the arm chair guys do it in August,..lmao)...when I felt the chance I quickly got to my feet and continued subduing the princess, she really wanted back in those logs,...but I finally landed her, thanks again Mr. FrogHair!!.

Thanks to buddy who took the pic for me,..I think he is from this board,...musta been a laugh watching me fall down and still fight the fish.

Sorry about the quality,..my Digi still aint workin right,..so the pics are Bass Pro Specials.

Yes, I only Caught one Fish,..so Took 4 pics...lol, is that wrong?

Also, I had to add this one,...my buddy and I on a different river,..nothing hitting,..so he did some 'Float' fishing..a different LogJam...lol,...Got 9 in total I think, I was just waitin for him to crash though.

    6-1.jpg

    Cheers,

    No problem on the pic

LOL! Yeah, that was a little funny. Nice job though, never saw anybody fight a fish on their butt before. Good fishing! Nice talking to you and your buddy yesterday. See ya on the river again.

  14. Haven't had the chance to get out this weekend. Worked Saturday and today is my wife Anna's 33rd birthday.

Here comes Monday to the rescue!

The weather forecast has been all over the place. Now with the rain coming today I'm left with a situation regarding

where to go. The spot I've been fishing as of late will more then likely be too stained on Monday depending on how much

    rain actually falls.

It might be time to try one of these gin clear eastern ditches I keep hearing about.

Hopefully a successful report to follow Monday evening.

Not so fast on the rain thing. It changed again. Originally they were forecasting 5-10. Now it's only five, which means we'll get 2  Seems to be the theme this year. :wallbash:
